Ive always loved bologna. As a child I ate regular bologna from Oscar Meyer. Most meat was OM for us. As I grew older and partly thanks to my wife I fell in love with beef bologna. To the point where regular bologna other than beef didn't taste so great to me any longer. I tried many brands. OM still made the best regular. But their beef was beyond compare. To this day no beef bologna beats it.
First off, my favorite beef bologna and salami is hebrew national. I currently have a hard time finding either. I used to get the salami, small cheese slices/cubes, and a box of ritz and just make small sandwiches until the crackers ran out. Good times and very much a comfort food of mine.

Fish and chicken are just stupid expensive now days. They used to be the cheap alternative to burgers.
I was readings reviews of my local Captain Ds and a guy was complaining on how much the 2 piece meal had gone up,. He said it was now $3.27....LOL review was 2014. I went and looked now...$11+
Also for YEARS the fish size is a lot smaller. Used to be a big wide filet. For years it's a skinny little plank.

My daughter loves hard salagmi and pepperoni. The former, she's happy with store brand, the latter I get Hormel, which I like the best of the presliced stuff. The other day while shopping my son asked if I could get Prasky (a Czech cooked garlic salami). I asked him how much he wanted and he said "all of it). I bought 3/4 lb, and I doubt he ate more than 1/3 of it.

Aldi has 16oz packs of both those for a good price. The salami is $4.99 I think, and I like the taste. I think salami is supposed to have some fermentation health benefits?

I heartily recommend the new "Crispy Dragon Calamari" appetizer at Red Lobster. Best thing I've ever had at Red Lobster, better than the biscuits even. A bit spicy & sweet & crunchy, tastes like something that would be prepared in Thailand.

Not rubbery at all?
Not at all. Best calamari I've EVER had, but I'm more partial to octopus which might upset some folks here.
My lobster on the other hand was rubbery. First lobster I've had since 1984 USS Von Steuben unfortunately. ...and before that was 1977 Chick's on Brigantine Island.

Also CNBC have been falling all over themselves in the last two days giving free advertising to McD's for the return of the value meal. I guess it's been a long time for me. I never knew it left. I think I had McD's once since the before times. I miss fast food but not enough to pay for it literally or in calories. I also don't care for the idea of needing to use an app to get reasonable pricing which is where everything was going when I started eating nearly every meal from home seemingly forever ago now... 2018? If calories and my heart could warrant, I'd still get my Lee's on a regular basis, even at their crazy (for me) prices of nearly $10 for a lunch. Maybe higher by now. It's been six months since I last had them and in six months prices are anybody's guess.
I thought of Hep when I originally posted the video. Wonder why he hadn't said anything yet.

I heard they are going down the crapper? (the restaurant, not the food). Not that it's a big loss, I doubt I go there more than once a decade and haven't been since my mom died 8 years ago. Their packaged stuff in the supermarket isn't bad, though. I had their parmesan shrimp the other day, I have a box of their biscuit-breaded shrimp in the freezer and of course the boxed biscuit mixed is good (pro tip, use beer to mix into the dry ingredients).

My Thai friends seem to like Red Lobster so I've ended up there more often than I would in my normal existence. Red Lobster has closed lots of locations lately, and I imagine they are headed down the proverbial crapper. I might stop by just by myself soon to get that particular appetizer one more time just in case it's the last chance I have.

They don't get much love in New England, where we're particular about fresh (never frozen!) seafood, but they were the Olive Garden of seafood in the Midwest. That ought to be a successful niche. I went to an all-you-can-eat crab legs promo at "Dead Lobster" as a teenager in Michigan 50 years ago and discovered that I could eat a near-infinite number of these things I'd never had before. Every time we called for "MOAR!!" the platter got a little smaller and came with more bread, but we were teenagers with bottomless stomachs and nothing better to do than break the crab bank.
Some reports say that the all-you-can-eat deals did them in, and others say that's bullshit, they were badly mismanaged for a long time. But it's still a good niche and most of their shops will still be around after they restructure. Not that it makes any difference hereabouts.
Does Arthur Treacher's still exist? I remember that as their rival but I haven't heard that name in a long time.
A private equity firm bought the chain ten years ago from Darden Restaurants, which owns rivals Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse. The firm, Golden Gate Capital, funded the deal partly by selling Red Lobster's real estate.
That meant the chain had to start paying rent. That's now a major financial factor in Red Lobster's bankruptcy filing, which asks the court to reject 108 leases, letting the company abandon those locations.
Since 2020, Red Lobster has been run by its largest shareholder: Thai Union Group, a seafood supplier also behind the Chicken of the Sea brand. And the bankruptcy filing lays much blame on Thai Union and ex-CEO Paul Kenny.
...
The bankruptcy filing alleges that Thai Union interfered with daily operations and even pushed out two rival suppliers of breaded shrimp, securing a costlier exclusive deal for itself.
Hmm...a company that's been successful for decades bought out by private equity, assets sold off in order to pay shareholders, then driven to failure by poor leadership until they declare bankruptcy, absolving the investors of any financial liability.
I'm pretty sure there's a term for that, but it happens so infrequently these days that I can't seem to remember...

I had a similar experience once in northern Wisconsin. They had all-you-can-eat crablegs, I probably wasn't the only one to break the bank on it but the next year the deal was something like $20/lb.
