Re: Wordle
Tried Redactle, after about 130 guesses and making no progress towards being able to even guess more words (largely just totally random guesses still), I gave up. Not my game apparently.

Re: Wordle
There is also a Semantle Junior now. It functions exactly like the regular version, but the target words are simpler so it is hypothetically easier to solve. You're still dealing with the sometimes opaque semantic scoring, so it's still possible to flail around wildly without making any progress.
I solved Semantle Junior #4 in 90 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 3.51. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #36. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 50.61 (985/1000). https://semantle.com/junior

Re: Wordle
Yeah, I know more than a few people that just bounce right off it.
I've been thinking that Redactle would benefit in terms of accessibility/appeal if they added some sort of hint function. The ability to take a hint when I'm really stuck has made Semantle significantly more enjoyable for me than it would be without it.

Re: Wordle
This came together nicely. I started out in the general ballpark, but didn't really start to narrow it down until the last half dozen words.
I solved today's Redactle (#50) in 24 guesses with an accuracy of 79.17%.

My theory is that Semantle is more a measure of my stubborness than anything else.
I solved Semantle #118 in 192 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 4.10. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #49. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 36.75 (962/1000).
My second highest scoring guess was #149, with a similarity of 60.45 (999/1000). There was much flailing about and gnashing of teeth before that last word finally popped into my head.

Re: Wordle
I don't get Semantle. Like, at all. I tried guessing, my closest guess was at around 17 and change. I used a couple of hints (one of which produced a word I've never heard and don't know the meaning - how is that even a useful hint?). Then I just gave up, and I don't see how I could ever get from my closest guess to the actual answer.

Re: Wordle
That was pretty much my initial reaction the first time I tried it back in the middle of March. I gave it another shot at the end of April, when I had started getting into Redactle and somehow managed to start getting results. I still don't feel that I'm good at it, but with luck and persistence (and a hint when I'm truly stumped) I'm usually able to solve it.

After the initial "cool, got 2 letters off the bat!", ended thinking I wasn't going to get it. Started trying to make up words. #4 guess was one I wouldn't have guessed was a real word.
