Hello Folks,
I like to play RPG, DnD, Pathfinder Etc, but have had trouble finding a local group.
I am aware of and have tried pathfinder society, have not tried the DnD equivalent.
Thinking about trying one of them online RPG thingies, where everybody sits at home with their computer, and plays a pen and paper RPG.
Have any of you tried these? Whats your experience been like?
Online RPG, not MMORPG

Sounds like you might wanna check Fantasy Grounds. Huge number of systems and modules adapted to it. A little pricey, but I always see steam sales for it.
Now depoliticized.

I've been playing D&D on Fantasy Grounds almost weekly since Nov '17 and can answer any questions you may have. Maybe the best way to do it would be for you to hop on the OO discord server Here is a link to it. PM me and I'll be happy to talk to you about it and even show you around. I have an ultimate subscription so any number of free clients can connect and play.Jaymon wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 4:25 pm Hello Folks,

EDIT: That invite stands for anyone interested in Fantasy Grounds

FWIW, almost all of the games you're talking about are played using one of two programs, Fantasy Grounds and Roll20. There are alternatives out there (even free alternatives), but none have nearly the market saturation of those two.
They're often paired with Discord, too.
