Re: Battlestar Galactica Boardgame 3 - Exodus
Thinking about it some more, I think the ideal option is to XO me; if no XO, then repair the Pegasus Engine Room. If neither...I guess use command and then have Apollo do his thing.
Then on my turn if Dee has a repair card I can XO her to get the engine room repaired, maybe.

Ok, I guess it's time to be a hero.
Cylon Dee will discard Consolidate Power 1 to move to the Pegasus Engine room, then use Repair 2 to repair said engine room..

I know, right? For probably 80% of this game (up until Boomer & Zurai's turns) I had assumed that we were doomed. I'm shocked that we have a real shot here.stessier wrote: I'm really shocked the Meat Bags my fellow humans are not only still in this game but look like they are going to pull it off.
That said, this is far from over. Given the crises that Turtle has come up with for most of this game, I am expecting that the next crisis will have -1 fuel as a fail condition, plus raiders activate, and the civvie in sector 5 will have 1 fuel in it.
But more broadly, we're still on the razor's edge here, and we really don't have a lot of cards available to us for crises.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Boardgame 3 - Exodus
Just basic pattern recognition, though it was probably a bad idea to give Turtle ideas.
Actually though, this is short of what I feared - it has "heavy raiders activate" (which is pretty much harmless given our time frame) rather than regular raiders. Plus it has a jump activation, so now we only need one more jump activation plus an action.
Anyways, I guess the question now is whether we can get to 9, since the -1 food doesn't really matter.

Oh, and Tory has no pre-check cards.
Yeah, not really going to be able to help here. Sadly, I don't think it's possible for any of us to have a "Support the People", but anyone did that wound be dandy.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Boardgame 3 - Exodus
So, if that civvie in sector 5 has fuel, then if we don't do something about that we lose the game, either on this turn (if raiders activate) or on Remus' turn (when he activates the cylon fleet). I'm thinking that we should do something about that.
So, Tory will move to command and activate it, putting two Mark VII vipers into sector 5.
This gives Apollo the chance to jump into one of these vipers and do stuff (after either the first or second vipers are launched).

Yes, but you don't have a special ability that lets you jump into vipers in the middle of other people's turns. I guess you're an, uh, asleep viper pilot.Grundbegriff wrote:Don't forget Boomer. Boomer's a pilot, too.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Boardgame 3 - Exodus
Apollo will jump into the second Viper Mk 7.
I have two options from here. I have two actions here thanks to CAG as long as I use the first to activate an unmanned Viper. The plan is to actually just use unmanned Vipers so I can pass the title to Boomer so she can get an extra action on her turn if she launches into space.
First option: have the unmanned Mk 7 attack twice and pass the title. This provides us the greatest protection for the civilians given the ships on the board by (hopefully) killing at least 1 Raider and ensuring the Raider in sector 4 will move towards the Vipers rather than towards the unprotected civilians.
Second option: have the unmanned Mk 7 escort the Brah Pakal, then move to sector 3 and pass the title. This completely removes that civilian from risk and ensures that the civilian in sector 3 is safe for at least two activations (barring additional Raiders jumping in).
In either case, Boomer will get the CAG title and would be able to use it on her turn. So, opinions?

My first reaction is to go with the first option (shoot down the raiders). Better to have one or both not a threat anymore, I think, and avoid risk that Apollo winds right back in sickbay.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Boardgame 3 - Exodus
Yeah, I actually almost just posted the first option as my actions, before I realized that the second one might be useful. But let's stick with door #1.
Activate the CAG title's second Action to activate an unmanned Viper and take an extra action; the unmanned Mk 7 in Sector 5 will attack a Raider.
Then activate the CAG title's first Action to activate an unmanned Viper and pass the title; the unmanned Mk 7 in Sector 5 will attack a Raider. CAGmiralident Apollo will pass the CAG title to Boomer and become simply Admiralident Apollo.

Can't wait to see the crisis! My main fear is that it will be an easy crisis with a jump activation icon and a loss trigger of, say, the admiral discarding three cards. Yup, it sure would be devastating if that were the crisis. I sure hope Turtle and anyone helping him draw crises do not draw that, as that is what I do not want.

We can't afford to take the first choice. Not only would it put the Cylon fleet 1 space away from jumping in, it would put a civilian directly on top of the Raider in sector 4.

Yeah, you're right. Also FWIW losing my hand wouldn't be a huge loss (though I'm not thrilled with our lack of cards generally). So I'd lean towards the second choice.Zurai wrote:We can't afford to take the first choice. Note that Boomer / Grund is now making this call on account of the CAG title transfer.
Not a bad crisis, though I was hoping for a jump activation as that could've allowed us to win before Scoop goes. C'est la vie.
