The Password Game
This game sucks, and is incredibly fun. And terrible, and frustrating. And cool.
https://neal.fun/password-game/
Farthest I've made it is rule 20.

Once it asked me for today's wordle answer, I decided it was going to be too much work and not enough fun.

Re: The Password Game
I made it to Rule 20 yesterday. I'm curious what's next, but I'm not sure I want to start all over again...

I got as far as rule 16. I don't have time to learn how to solve chess problems this morning.

Quite a scavenger hunt.
How am I expected to get the roman numerals to multiply to 35 when I have to include a capital C? Roman decimals?
/edit - Ah.

Re: The Password Game
Best move is easy, figuring the notation for it...
You'll know you got it right when you enter it and it tells you it's an illegal move... because the notation is wrong.

Re: The Password Game
I used to watch Password in the mornings in the early 80s. Then Super Password came out making it harder for contestants.

I remembered, cheated past the chess problem, carried on until I completed rule 19. Then the password burned down? And Paul died? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Max Peck wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 11:02 amIf I remember to get back to this later, I'll take a look at this. I'm not GeoGuessr enough to get past 14.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Re: The Password Game
I cheesed that. There was a monument right next to the starting point, and I fed the inscription into Google translate to identify the language, which gave me the country.

Re: The Password Game
My map scene had a distinctive piece of architecture that narrowed down the possibilities to a certain region. I started with the big names from that region and hit it on my second guess.

Mine also burned down at 20. I didn't see any option to stop it. At least not that I could understand quick enough.

The chess move, as with the country photo, changes each run.

Spoiler:
phase of the moon and wordle will change though not for each run
Edit: I just googled the solution. I was pretty close to the "fuck this shit I'm out" rule 27 and the idea of amending my password again and again after 27, nope. Link to solution spoiler below.

Re: The Password Game
That isn't the chess solution that worked for me, so it's possible that not everyone gets the same problem. The geoguesser solution that Blackhawk posted was also different from the one I had.

Re: The Password Game
I'm conditioned to expect Passwordle, where everyone gets the exact same set of rules and the rules reset every day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And I also missed that you posted the exact same thing.

What country is #14 (with island mountain) or is it different for everybody?

Re: The Password Game
I got the chess solution but the CAPTCHA plus the 8 in the chess answer add up to 31. How do I get a total of all numbers to equal 25? I tried adding negative numbers but it ignores the sign.
