Post by Grifman »

Everspace 2 releases from early access this week. PC Gamer thinks highly of it:

It feels about as 90s as mad cow disease and Pogs.
Approach Everspace 2 like a single-player arcade space shooter with a 30 hour shelf life, rather than a Loot-Spewing Space Diablo you will play forever, and it’s enormously entertaining stuff. It’s like playing Freelancer for the first time again, or Colony Wars: Red Sun on a chipped PlayStation with the lid propped open.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

I started playing this yesterday on Gamepass. I'm still in the very early game, but enjoying it. Space combat is a bit challenging and fun. Lots of weapon options. No opinion on the story yet, but the price is right!

Finished it up today in just a hair under 40 hours. It was basically what I wanted Rebel Galaxy Outlaw to be. Not a lot of choice in the story but a fun world to explore and lots of open world boxes to check.

You're better off using a controller. I used a similar controller layout to what's provided here, though YMMV.

I played it a bit with mouse and keyboard and liked it. I'm in a gaming doldrums right now, but I liked what this had.

Im trying it again with a controller this time. Its hard to control but I feel like its like the first Gothic game..terrible controls but if I get used to them they will feel intuitive to me. Im trying to get used to it. The controls are a little touchy and I cant find a way to spin in place..or roll in place. Other than that I think Im going to slowly get used to it. I set the game to very easy lol.. Sad.

Its not like Star Wars Squadrons at all sadly. That one was really easy after a while. And something about this one looks off graphics wise compared to the way I remember all the previews of it I watched years ago. Ill have to go into all the setting and look around.

Ive only done the beginning stuff and gotten to the players base. The story reminds me of almost the same as Independence War 2 Edge of Chaos.
