Oh, missed that part. Still, a nomination that lead to her only win. I find it surprising that she's only ever been nominated once, actually. Many have been nominated multple times, ie Spielberg and haven't had great luck.

I used to be a big fan of a certain band, and while they got nominated 11 times in the time they were together, they won none they were nominated for.

Seems a local guy who graduated from my old high school helped Avatar Way of Water win an Oscar. Neat.

Cleveland High School Alumnus is part of Oscar-winning team for work on blockbuster film
Cleveland High School Alumnus Ben Murphy helped "Avatar: Way of Water" win an Oscar for Best Visual Effects.

The 2011 grad was the First Assistant Editor on the film.

The visual effects were quite spectacular. As they were in the first film.
