Miami's "cinderella run" is done, and Denver Nuggets are the 2023 NBA champs!

I can hear someone shooting off fireworks in the neighborhood.

It was a great game. Miami played well, but Denver was just too good.

Question: has Jokic ever looked happy?

Watching him after the game and in press conferences was hilarious. That dude did not give one single solitary fuck about winning the NBA title. He just wanted to go home.

Did he also get MVP?

Begrudging congrats to the Nuggets. Don't see how the Lakers are going to compete with that.

He got Finals MVP. He lost out to Joel Embiid for the regular season MVP.

That was quite the amazing run by the Heat, especially after they lost Herro for the playoffs. They had guys everywhere step up hugely in just about every game. It was probably the most unlikely run we've ever seen.

They probably could have done the same thing in this series, save for 2 HUGE factors - no, not Murray and Jokic, tho they were fantastic.

Rather, it was Gordon and Porter Jr, who played great defense on Jimmy Butler, and their height made it almost impossible for him to take over games like he did in every other series of the playoffs. He was able to get into the lane in this series just like the rest, but then he usually had a couple of 6'10+ guys preventing him from getting even his fade away off, and he would have to pass out of it. It was rather fitting that the last major play of the Finals was him doing exactly this (driving the lane and being forced to kick out), then having KCP read the passing lane and get the steal.
