- Click on the username of the individual you want to PM, e.g. dbt1949
- This will display their profile; now click on the PM: "Send private message" link within their profile.
- Type your subject and compose your message then hit the Submit button and your message will be sent.

As I recall it stays in your out box or sent box until they actually click on it to read it.
