During the holidays their preview of the next free game is hints on a wrapping paper. Unless you mean the pay and play games. I know I've played a few in the past. MtG:Arena, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Idle Champions are examples. I even spent some real money on MPQ to get slots for more characters.

Usually the wrapping paper hide clues to what will be the game inside.

Not sure where to post this, but the ruling should be interesting if Google loses the appeal too and will have to lose their Play Store monopoly.

Tomorrow's is triangles. It's either Forest Simulator, or the entire Legend of Zelda series.

Today's game Melvor Idle. I was thinking about an Idle style "game", so I might actually install it and see what it is.

I can't tell if yesterday's image actually refers to the game itself.

Ok, confirmed: The wrapping paper is apparently no longer a hint (although it may still take a game or two to be sure.) Game over.

Apparently last year there was a kerfluffle when the clearly hinted some popular game, then had to switch games at the last minute. So this year they're making the fun go away.

Just like the annual Steam holiday sales, eventually people ruin everything. That's unfortunate, but I'm guessing it wasn't worth their headache.

I tried art of rally last night and was getting some frame rate drops. Good thing I have a new rig ready to trade out before year's end.

Which is better than no Outer Worlds, but the consensus is still that the original is the much better version.

There's the original release, and there's the "Spacer's Choice Edition", which was supposed to be a remaster, but ended up causing more problems than it solved. It's one of those games (like one of the Dark Souls titles and Borderlands Enhanced) where the re-release is the weaker version.

From what I've read, the technical issues that marred the launch of the SCE have been patched now. I've seen comments to the effect that the original version looks better to some people, but I haven't fired them up recently to compare them. I bought the OG version at launch, and the SCE upgrade when it came out, but because of the performance issues I never put any time into the new version of the game at the time and haven't returned to it since then.

Ah ok. Thought that might be a new game or just the original with all the patches and expansions.

note that this is a complete and total reboot. i am not sure how much of a resemblance it has to the original first Saint's Row (which was never available on PC - console only).

It's not nearly as good as the original Saint Rows, and completely resets the over-the-top wackiness of the later sequels. But I will say once I wrapped my brain around the changes I still enjoyed it enough to finish it. Just be aware it's its own thing. For free? Yeah, no brainer. I paid $30 and was still satisfied.

It was all the wackiness that turned me off to the series. Of course i only had the 3rd or 4th one to try. Its why I preferred GTA V. All the fun just not all the over the top silly stuff. So maybe Ill like this. I anted to like the series. The story and such seem cool.
