Well, it was probably a First Edition...

For those unaware, this represents the first *new* content from a KS project that was funded in January of 2017 - 6.5 years ago. I was lucky enough to jump in on a Black Friday deal during the pledging and so I picked it up for $50. I'm not sure if it was worth the wait, but it's absolutely impressive.

He's allegedly going to deliver more new content in Q4, but I am a bit skeptical that will happen. It does sound like perhaps the Gambler's Box took too much of his attention so maybe now that it's out he can really focus on everything else that was promised in 2017.
I'll give you $60 for it.

Would not surprise me if there was a Kenny Rogers themed miniature buried in the pile somehow. :)
But since this is KDM, it would be Kenny Rogers buff and wearing assless chaps.

For those that want a different theme (i.e. not WW2), the Gamefound page for Gates of Niflheim has been published. Not sure when it's officially launching:

https://gamefound.com/projects/rayboxga ... f-niflheim
Gates Of Niflheim makes use of the Paths Unknown game engine and blends it into a dungeon crawl akin to what we've seen in their previous games. Tie in storytelling and narrative elements alongside branching decisions and you've got an awesome hybrid of miniatures game, board game and roleplaying adventure.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I was actually thinking about doing a session of Captain's Log here on the forum. At the very least, go through a character generation on the forum. My boss is off today, so I have some goof-off time today...

If you're talking about running a session and you have patience I'd join in.
If your talking about posting it as a story I'd still be interested.

The closest I ever got was making it all the way to Day 11, which seemed like it took an incredible amount of luck and me playing my best strategic game ever. When even that wasn't enough to win I gave up hope. It's still a great game, just one I had to take a break from.

Time to update the pending Kickstarter list:

The Gods Will Have Blood - A tiny print run done in the U.S. Prediction: October 2023.
Categorickell - I had dropped this from the list after the creator said that it wouldn't happen. But now it's happened! The games (just cards and a tuckbox) are in the UK and ready to ship. The only remaining delay, per the creator: "I need to find my passport so that I can confirm my identity to Kickstarter so that I can send a backer survey to collect addresses." Prediction: November 2023.
Deep Shelf - Can't wait to get this one. Prediction: January 2024.
Red Dust Rebellion (GMT P500) - This has been held up while they develop the solo bot. Annoying, because I'm not getting it for solo play. Prediction: April 2024.
Cross Bronx Expressway (GMT P500) - Still in development. Prediction: September 2024.
Zheng He: Admiral of the Ming Voyages (GMT P500) - Still in development. Prediction: January 2025.
Glorantha: The Gods War - bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

~Borderlands: Mr Torgue's Arena of Badassery (April 2023)
~Batman: Gotham City Chronicles - mostly just the updated and solo rules and a couple of extras (Sep 2023) (Undefined 'late')
~Dungeon Universalis (Sep 2023)
~Pathfinder for Savage Worlds - Curse of the Crimson Throne (Sept 2023)
~Maladum (January 2024)
~Reaper Bones 6 (April 2024)

That's it. With the exception of Maladum (which I'd been saving for for months), I haven't backed anything in 2023, and don't really have any major plans to. I can imagine a day when I have nothing else coming. Which is kind of sad - I've had semi-unexpected surprises showing up now and then for around a decade. Maybe I'll back a ten dollar item now and then, just for the future surprise.

It helps that most miniatures and terrain campaigns have switched to just selling 3d printer files. As I don't have a 3d printer (and probably won't be able to get one for a long, long time), I've essentially been pushed out of that particular market.

After burncycle arriving last week, I've got the following outstanding:

20 Strong - On time, should be before end of year

Freedom Five - Who the hell knows

Oathsworn - In the US and shipping now. Expecting within the next 2-3 weeks

Set a Watch Expansions - Still on track for Q1 2024

Townsfolk Tussle Still on track for sometime 2024

I've stepped back quite a bit on new pledges as well. I've found that the weekly Frosthaven sessions largely satisfy my boardgaming itch during the week, and if I do want to play something at home there's more than enough in hand and on the way to keep me busy. I imagine, for example, that Oathsworn alone is going to take up any remaining board game time I have available for the rest of the year.

Well crap, I wasn’t keeping up on this one, even though I P500’d it from GMT ages ago. I’m getting it for both solo and MP though, so I shouldn’t complain.

I have several outstanding Kickstarters, but right now I am "patiently" waiting for shipping on many in the states. They all decided to arrive here at the same time:
  • Septima (Witches)
  • Burncyle New Recruits
  • Oathsworn
  • Uprising and Expansion
  • Voidfall
If these all show up on the same day my wife will kill me.

Just when I thought I was out.....they pull me back in....

Chip Theory just launched their Hoplomachus Victorum/Remastered expansion KS.

I really only care about the new content for Victorum, but that adds up to about $65-70 and for $100 I get everything. Decisions.....

Or I do the smart thing and just wait for it to hit retail and see if/when I even care about it anymore by that time.

Just got my Oathsworn shipping notice, so it should be here early to mid next-week I'm hoping. I went for the standee version because I don't need any more minis in my life.

Out of all the outstanding pledges I've got, this is probably the one I've been most excited for given the rave reviews.

Still waiting on my Uprising and Oathsworn shipping notices (I hope my copy of Oathsworn isn't with the ones still coming in the boats). Apparently they are being fulfilled by the same logistics company.

Got my Burncycle shipping notice and it should be here soon. That is the one I am less excited about, even though I love the game.

• Last Light – April 2023 (on a boat)
• Paranoia RPG – Perfect Edition – June 2023 (on a boat to US)
• Unsettled Board Game New Content – February 2023 (October fulfillment)
• Dead Rockoning Letters of Marque – August 2023 (November fulfillment)
• Reaper Miniatures Bones 6 – April 2024

Waiting for the Stars of Akarios 1.5 Update campaign.
Debating late pledge for the D.E.I. reprint.
Tempted by Rogue Angels to support the designer Emil who was amazing in getting Burning Suns delivered despite the odds. While I like Sci Fi theme, I'm skeptical about getting another campaign game.

According to one of the updates earlier this year, it's been pushed to Q1 2024. I'm guessing March.

I have far too many crowdfunded projects. I've slowed down, but the ones I've backed keep slipping so the list just never gets shorter...

Arydia slipped for a good reason — it’s a complicated game and his kid was sick. And Xia was so good, it’s worth supporting him.

Oathsworn arrived earlier than expected, all 25 pounds of it. And that's just the standee version, which I didn't realize STILL has like 20 minis in it (for the heroes and their pets). However, I'm just going to paint the 4 I'm playing with and I'm slap-chopping the hell out of those so I can get to this to the table in a reasonable amount of time.

Very impressed with the components. The card stock/finish is really nice, and it comes with card organizers, battle card trays, and a token tray. It even has a fabulous setup sheet that tells you how to punch and organize everything before you even crack the rule book.

The only thing I haven't figured out so far is how to get everything back in the box. For the life of me I can't figure out how the neatly organized components now seem to take up twice as much space as the unorganized ones - even with 4 or 5 pieces of punchboard removed. At some point I'll have to look up a re-boxing video.

Really hoping to be able to finish the minis tomorrow and at least get through the first chapter story phase tomorrow evening.
