One thing that really stands out when you look at long lists of movie trailers is the prevalence of guns.

Sure, there are rom-coms and dramas and psychological thrillers, but it seems like every third or fourth movie (at most) features prominent firearms.

I think our civilization has a theme.

Weird.

The movie (at least according to the trailer) appears to be entirely about a kidnapped reporter (maybe a CIA agent) in a thoroughly modern-day Middle East setting. But the top-half imagery on the poster shows a WW2 Tiger tank and what are probably German soldiers. Nothing I could find online suggests a WW2 context for the movie.

Did someone botch the clip-art for generic military/action themes?

Massive physics fail.

A jet going into that dive to restart the engine wouldn't be able to pull out of it like that. Even if it somehow could, the speed would have snapped off the gear as soon as it tried to deploy.

(Russian military movies always play fast and loose with physics: T-34 literally dodges a German Tiger's shot, etc.)
And that's when the Russians realized it might be better for the actual pilot to do the preflight checklist himself.

Movie posters with guns are an automatic skip for me.
