We give ourselves Too Much Time. Nothing should take 3 weeks. I worry the pace of this game would make me nuts.
I agree, 10 days is plenty.

Unagi, after your performance last game, I'll follow you blindly* this game, if you play.

I do hope we all learned to be more active after last game.

Come on and play!

Fair enough - the mob has spoken.

If we start with 4 wolves, and since there are no conversions possible, we start at 13 Villagers/ 4 wolves.

What about this plan: The time limit is equal to the number of Villagers alive? All days count the same - whether weekend or weekday. Memorial Day weekend will not count at all (Sat, Sun, Mon).

Example 1:
Start of Day 1 - 13 days (17 Players - 13 Villagers/4 wolves)
Start of Day 2 - 11 days (15 Players - 11 Villagers/4 wolves)
Start of Day 3 - 9 days (13 Players - 9 Villagers/4 wolves)
Start of Day 4 - 7 days (11 Players - 7 Villagers/4 wolves)
Start of Day 5 - 5 days (9 Players - 5 Villagers/4 wolves)
Wolves win with Villager lynch on Day 5!

Example 2:
Start of Day 1 - 13 days (17 Players - 13 Villagers/4 wolves)
Start of Day 2 - 11 days (15 Players - 11 Villagers/4 wolves)
  • Bakhshot hits Villager
  • Beserker lynched taking out Villager
Start of Day 3 - 8 days (11 Players - 8 Villagers/3 wolves)

Using this method, the counter will still decrease as the Wolves kill off Villagers each night. The only way it wouldn't decrease is if the Village lynched a wolf and the Night Kill was blocked. Which is possible, but should be rare.

I like this method because there is some logic behind it, but I'm open to anything.

Just need to be sure that you aren't revealing anything extra by stating definitively how many villagers are still in the game.

Would that reveal a Sorcerer's death?

Yes, per the rules, that is what he is. (Edit: Although re-reading, I guess it was a fair question to ask. :P)

It won't work in all cases, but works in this case. :)

Woo-hoo! Welcome aboard!

Unagi - are you in as well? We'd be at 19 with you participation giving us a small Cabal and all roles except the Medium.

Newcastle wrote:saturday & sunday should count as 1 day.
Noted. I think we still have enough time. If enough people agree with you, though, I'd be willing to change it. If we start with 19, we'll start with 15 villagers giving us 11 weekdays to work with plus 4 weekend days. That's a lot of time.

There are a couple people who can only check in after work, so we won't do anything until Tuesday at the earliest.

I wouldn't protest that, but I'm not sure that's entirely needed - maybe what we would really want is more like:

If the natural deadline should fall on a Saturday or Sunday - the deadline will really be on the Monday that follows.

That way - we still keep the clock moving on every day - but we try and minimize the problem of actually being there on a weekend day.

Sorry guys, had to take care of the kids while the wife went to the doctor. We just need a last few confirmations and we'll be ready to go. I would expect the PMs to go out tomorrow night at the latest - maybe as early as this evening. We'll start in a new thread when the time comes.

17 days to the end of the month. Game hasnt started. Minimum 20 days till day 1 is hypotehtically over (roughly).....i think we could be a bit forgiving on day 1. I wouldnt be offended if you reconsider to join in. As long as you pop in here and there, i am ok with it, and also with the caveat that eventually youre participation will come up.

I understand where Unagi is coming from, but i think a lot of unique personal experiences hit last game - purge going awol (sickness i think), Mr. Bubbles and an ill child, RMC and his hospital stint, truicy & work and CR and his houdini act.

I think we can afford a wee bit of leeway. Just my two cents.

Also with 20 people in the game currently, this game has the potential to last into mid july and maybe august. This is going to be the only game around for a bit i'd think.

Come back Lagom...come back!

1 last thing - here in the US we're gonna have a massive 4 day holiday (memorial day) in about 10 days time...so push back the end of day 1 another 4 days.
