I would never "fuck" the popcorn bucket.

I would make sweet, gentle yet transcendant love to the bucket.

Um, what's the back of the bucket look like? Asking for a friend.

Also, as an aside, if we assume that it doesn't take place in this galaxy, wouldn't all other galaxies be "far, far away"? Heck, I'd argue that any other star in this galaxy is far, far away. Though I suppose it depends on one's scale.

If I'm not mistaken, the Star Wars universe is the same cinematic universe as Killer Klowns from Outer Space.

At least that's how I see it and my fan fiction will back me up.

"What'ya gonna do with those pies, boys?"

Stands to reason other intelligent life than ourselves would invent the same items over time. Its a screw head...how many types can you invent? Or start out with simple ones like straight or Philips .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_F._Phillips
Henry Frank Phillips (June 4, 1889 – April 13, 1958) was an American businessman from Portland, Oregon. The Phillips-head ("crosshead") screw and screwdriver are named after him.[1]

The importance of the crosshead screw design lies in its self-centering property, useful on automated production lines that use powered screwdrivers.[2] Phillips' major contribution was in driving the crosshead concept forward to the point where it was adopted by screwmakers and automobile companies. The credited inventor of the Phillips screw was John P. Thompson who, in 1932, patented (#1,908,080) a recessed cruciform screw and in 1933, a screwdriver for it.[3]

And Harry Mudd was big enough to be Gleason.

I had one of those. I don't even really remember much of anything about Space 1999 but I do remember the toy.

I rewatched Space: 1999 a few years back. The first season actually holds up reasonably well.
The second season became a "Monster of the Week" slog fest so I bailed about halfway through.

I also had the Eagle 1 toy set....(Side note: Holy Shit!! $1500 for the complete set on eBay)

I hope my mom doesn't find out about that. She got rid of my Eagle a long time ago when she moved while I was in college.

Nah, they're being chased by the Romulan Commander (Joanne Linville) and sub-commander Tal, because they are trying to smuggle Romulan Ale back to Atlanta.

That was plastic. Mine was metal. If the stuff on that shelving was plastic then I didn't have one those.

I don't remember a metal version.
The one I had you could take the front (Command Module) off of the front and the thrusters off of the back and then you could plug them together for a little scout type ship.

It also came with three (I think) figures and barrels and a winch. It was freaking huge.

It's hard for me to remember how big the on I had was. I was small. I'm guessing maybe 10" long. But I really don't know. I'm also having a hard time remembering how it may or may not have disassembled or articulated.

I'd bet most of us olduns have stories like this.
I had a TON of 1st gen Star Wars, Transformers, and GI JOEs as a kid. Of course we didn't think about collecting them for resale so everything was opened but is still valuable.

I dont think I ever had the ship...dont think anyways. I did have the hand pistol and something else. Space 1999 was my favorite show at the time of its broadcasting. In the 90s I used to rent it too.

May still have this someplace knowing me..just the pistol if so.

I'm pretty sure I've never seen a single episode of the show. I'm not sure why - it's exactly the kind of thing I would have watched. It was a little early for me to have caught it on it's initial run I'd have been around 2-4 years old), but I'd have watched the reruns.

This is me as well. I'm 'aware' of the show, and I couldn't tell you how I avoided it, but I don't think I ever saw an episode. The neighbor had the large plastic ship, and we played with it - and I think at the time I knew what it was from but was satisfied with just the toy for some reason.

Now... Land of the Lost? I'm certain I saw every one of those.

I had the big plastic one , it was about 2ft long. So many old toys I wished I had saved, Still got a lot of my old Star Wars figures and a few Micronauts. But that's all that remains of my vast collection of space toys when I was young.

I can remember watching them when I was young, but don't really remember them.

and I remember bending a thick metal rod in my grandfathers shop into the shape of the Space 1999 laser. I then painted it and played with that for years.

I also have the entire series on DVD.

Yeah, I know.

I bought it five or six years ago on a whim - I was in a junk shop and it was for sale for around $5 for the entire series. I grabbed it, stuck it in my DVD binder, and forgot about it.

I think Zuckerberg watched it too. Just played episode 1 . Right at the end they say " it's Meta , maybe that's where our future lies , maybe there"
