Yeah, accurate. As someone who works in security monitoring more recently, 9 times out of 10 if we're late calling on a burglary alarm, the client says "Someone could have had a gun to my head!" As if there's a fraternity of alarm system customers and they get together and rehearse it. So what if someone had a gun to your head? Was our phone call going to startle them and make them drop it and run away?

Consumers think alarm systems protect people. The security industry knows they're designed to protect property. Panic/duress alarms are a thing, but if your assailant knows one was activated, I imagine things are as likely to get much worse for you as they are better.

I hope no photosensitive epileptics watch that.
