Xbox Banned from Xbox Live!

Post by Eco-Logic »

Save all the serves you right crap for another thread, please :)

I have a mod chip, with an external switch. I also have a bios that won't even allow you to attempt to log onto Xbox Live while the chip is turned on. Today I tried to play ESPN NFL 2K5 against stiffler for the CG league and It says I've been banned for having a modified Xbox.

All I have to say is, DAMN.

MS and their billions have figured out how to go completely around the fact that the chip is turned off and apparently check the serial number on the hard drive and if it doesn't match the original HD you're banned automatically.

So, I've been banned on Halo 2 eve. Tell me that wasn't a brilliant move by them. They release the most anticipated game of all time (arguably), and bann 1,000's of people from accessing one of the games most appealing features, online play. What are a large number of those people going to do? Buy a new Xbox to use for Xbox Live, me included. Holy shit, the're brilliant.

My Xbox is chipped, but has the original HD in it.
I wonder if I'm safe.

Actually, it's been known a while that MS could've killed modded Xboxes at any time it wanted. They were letting people onto Live out of grace because they own the original disc.

Looks like that's over now.

LOL, that one is great.

Well, I knew there would be a chance this would happen. I'll just have to buy a new one. MS is brilliant for doing it when they did it.

Funny, I knew why people said pwn3d, but in my liberal way, I always excused it.

That is an interesting find Eco-Logic. I am chipping my Xbox this weekend. My Live subcription lapsed a few months ago. I went a head and signed up with the website but I probably won't get a chance to dick with Xlink until next weekend. I look forward to some feedback!

Once I downloaded the software, I was up and running in 5 minutes. It is so easy to find a game. The first game I joined was pretty laggy so I had a bad feeling about the whole thing. The 2nd game I joined was 8 on 8 CTF and it was smooth as butter. I ended up playing about 2 hours and had a great time.

Great system that I highly recommend! :)

The only scary thing is that this is what Microsoft wants PCs to be like. :( :x

Holy crap that XLink program is incredible. Played some Halo 2 on it, connected right to a low-ping server, was in a 8 player game or so lag-free.

Anyone know some good system link games?

I thought it was funny. :ninja:
kind of like a cloud I was up way up in the sky and I was feeling some feelings that I couldn't believe; sometimes I don't believe them myself but I decided I was never coming down

What would NOT be funny is if someone REALLY made an event where
handicapped children had to run from off-road vehicles. As far as
photoshopping goes.... Lighten up.

The lego pic is more questionable IMO since someone bothered to actually
build that. And even if it is not PC to put it out there, it IS part of our
dirty American history.
