Why did it make no sense?

And what confusion did it cause??

Didn't a fair number of people want to lynch him yesterday? Will the package change their opinion? Will it change the opinion of people who thought he was innocent?

If he is the Sorcerer, doesn't this now give him something to point to and say he wouldn't be that stupid?

Now it is time to get more serious. Now that we know a conversion happened last night. We know we have 3 wolves and 1 sorcerer to find hiding in the 13 alive. I think we should take our time today and look closely at the goings on.

Sorry, I was thinking beta leaves packages for sorc. (Faking rules ignorance? You decide 2008!)

So... We know that the Sorc is alive (not Trig and not Pr0ner) and that he left the package for Chaosraven. Chaosraven could have left it on his own porch.

Someone was converted.

And now 2 people have mentioned it without the needed caveat.

As for CR, of course the package makes sense. Odds of his doing that as Sorcerer are close to nill. So I think we can discard that possibility. Odds of the sorcerer doing that to him hoping he is beta or hoping to get an innocent lynched are much much higher.

Those of you faking not knowing the rules are also faking not having read the thread yesterday wherein Scoop clarified that the package gives Beta the sorcerer's name allowing contact the following night. The next night after contact, the Sorcerer becomes the anti-Seer.

Haha wolves. You screwed up. :P Just like in the other games, it's statistically unlikely your alpha will die today, converting last night was fuck up. You are teh stupid. Naner naner naner. And you can kiss my lily white hairless predominantly of Germanic desent ass! What do you think of them doggy bones? I even said too much on day one talking about longevity versus wolf finding. :P Feel stupid. Feel very very very stupid. I am embarassed for you.

I never said I was against taking our time. Interesting that you want everyone to think that I am.

I merely pointed out the actions of three previous wolves. I thought perhaps someone would find that information useful.

Yes, technically it could have been a protection. But is it not sound strategy to work from the idea that there was a conversion. If it turns out later that it was not then that is even more info to go with.

Why does it seem, Stess, that you are trying to subtely push things around???? Did you finally get to be a badguy instead of your usual specialness??????

Hence my mention of lynching before he gets his powers. But whatever, rules ignorance/missteps are not anything the demonstrate innocence for obvious reasons. I just get mixed up role names and changes a bit.

Ok i really thought trigg was the sorcerer, I read too much into stuff, like him smiling when he died. As such killing Chaos for being the sorcerer seems a smidge stupid.

Now I think he put the bag on his own step to throw us off.

Accuse Chaosraven

It's a wise idea to play nice and careful. Wolves suggest it, as do normal villagers - it's not really something you can just turn-key evil.

Everybody also seems to be forgetting that, in addition to a possible protection last night, the conversion target could have been immune.

As to the Business of the Day....

Austin still looks very fangy and hairy to me. As much if not more than he did yesterday.

The Rev has this hairy-hippie thing going on, too.

Lassr might smell a little like wet fur.

I'ma go back and read through some more posts to try and glean more clues.

I doubt Chaosraven is anything. I think the package on his doorstep is somebody's idea of a really funny joke. However, I do not think him putting a package on his own doorstep to throw off suspicion is outside the bounds of possibility or even probability.

I have to find Scoop's post and reread it (yes I skim some when reading on the iPhone). I'm still unclear as to whether the Beta gets the Sorcerer's name regardless of who the package is delivered to, or if the Sorcerer needs to leave the package on the Beta's porch for that to work.

Either way, I understood how that worked better than the werewolf Austin.

In a previous game a 'non-disgruntled' Control Agent that was a conversion target was killed if immune from conversion.
Was it asked what would happen in this game if that happened?

Yep same thing here.

There are no secret powers but there MAY be some random events but they are nothing game breaking.

On the Sorcerer confusion, if the sorcerer puts a evil package on the porch of the Beta Werewolf, when it goes off in the morning, the Beta werewolf is informed of the Sorcerer's name. However, no connection has been made yet. The sorcerer is still unaware if he chose correctly. That night, the beta werewolf can scan the sorcerer, then the connection is made. The Sorcerer and Beta werewolf immediately get their own separate secret forum and then the next night, the sorcerer may make his first scan. Also, FYI, the sorcerer is not automatically immune to being converted by the Alpha Werewolf, but there is a chance (random) he is immune.

Any questions?

BTW, props to Lassr for letting me steal his baltar/6 idea.

The package on Chaosraven's front porch is null information.

He's either the Beta, or the Sorcerer putting the package on his own porch to throw off suspicion, or he's any other role in the game.

So, the package on his porch means he could be anything. Null information.

Long post coming... warning now.

Recap:
Sean and Austin were confused about the rules.

Most seem to agree the Package means squat today.

I'll go one further. If the package had been on anyone elses door, would it have meant more? Would the sorcerer waste a package to kill Chaos by placing it on his door to make you all think he is the beta? No, odds are he would be dying today since most thought he was the sorcerer and letting him live gives the wolves a seer. Putting it on anyone elses doorstep would have been just as dangerous to chaos if not more so and allowed for a possible contact.

I like where my vote is.

Some claim to know more than they ever will.

Is it worth playing the, were I a wolf I would have tried to convert X game? I suppose not because the tru1cy's or Unagi's could already be wolves from Day 1. But those would be my top two choices. :P

I need to make a bit of a Meta Announcement:

I am leaving for a spring-vacation Saturday (the 5th) and will be gone until the following Saturday (the 12th). I have my fabulous iPhone though, so I will be able to check and make some small posts, etc - but nothing close to 'normal Unagi'. We're going to Florida.

(I'm sad to be missing the Chicago OO Game-Fest, as I would have gotten to meet Remus and Chaos, and I really-really would have liked to have gotten that chance.)

Really?? You would have converted ME?
I'm both honored and totally not believing that.

I've never one a game as a wolf, many people claim I have a tell, and I'm on a 5 (I think) game losing streak here.

Having said all that, the only thing going for an Unagi-Conversion would be: I make the absolute Worse Choice... So, I will give you that Austin.

I'd like to use this time to ask you Austin why you didn't consider what Alpha or Beta pr0ner would have done being faced with The-Pit, and why you thought it was still good to push him after he came and basically claimed 'villager'? I was actually a little surprised. I'm of mixed opinions on it, as I was almost going to push him in myself - but I really felt it was a Lame Day-1 move (especially as we were after alpha/beta).

I wouldn't be surprised if LordMortis was selected as the convert - given how much he hates the convert, someone would have found that wonderfully fun to do.

Sean, I like two of the four ideas you posted. One of the others is o.k. One I do not agree with right now. I'll let folks mull over on their own which is which.
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” - H.L. Mencken
