Actually, Angel of Death / Secrets of the Ark seems very likely.
I seem to recall seeing the box-with-letters prop.
And with a nextgen console release, GTA4 will hopefully look a lot better than that. (shame on Rockstar for letting us PC gamers stand in the rain)
I picked up AoD from bargain and I stopped playing because there was some weird sound bug I couldn't get fixed, so I can't judge it's quality.
However, I think the first two were actually a lot better than 3 with the sokoban puzzles and timed sequences and such crap, but I might be in a minority here.

Overlords return and I find there's been a right answer all the time.
Never saw it before the crash. Takeda II it is, if anyone still interested.

Questron? Questor? It was an SSI knockoff of Ultima - I remember that.

The Dark Queen of Krynn? (I still have a Death Knights of Krynn party that's been waiting to enter that game for 10 years.)

Hint: this 2000 release took place in a dystopian future (albeit one in which fuel prices aren't as high as they are in the real world).

Ok, I've got a couple of shots from really obscure games, mainstream titles that only ten people ever played three finished. As such, I'll give a shot from each of them - you need guess only one to move on. Naturally, guessing both will amaze your friends and embarrass your parents.
Again, these shots are from different games.

Gah! I don't recognize most of these images (except the sailors around the pool table that a woman is dancing on). I fail as a gaming nerd.

The second one looks familiar to me. I'm not sure why. It also sort of reminds me of that game Lifeline which I never played. So that'll be my guess until I can give this some more thought (unless that's it).

Not lifeline. Both are PC shooters released this millennium. Here's a hint on the second one: You're looking at yourself through a security camera you're hacking.

Not Red Faction, but that's a good guess as the shot is on Mars. The game doesn't just take place on Mars - it takes place on a space station and on Earth, too (from what I remember.)SlapBone wrote:Is the first one Red Faction?
The second was a single player shooter that ended up playing like a multiplayer shooter, complete with you and your team respawning whenever you were killed.

Re: Name the Game from the Screenshot, Part 4
We need more people playing!
Ok, one last set of hints.
The first game is from 2003. The game's name is the main character's last name. It was a fun game for a while, but way too long, as it became very repetitive. The shot is late in the game. You've arrived on Mars, taken control of a facility, and must defend it in an exoskeleton until relief arrives.
The second game is also from 2003. It is an Unreal Engine 2.0 game, whose main character was an obvious attempt to cash in with an Eminem lookalike. It was a pure action shooter set in the near future, where the first half was like a traditional linear shooter, and the second half was your squad vs. the AI in what amounted to single player capture-the-flag. The shot is from near the beginning, as you're escaping a hospital.
I'll post the answers in a couple of hours if nobody has guessed yet.

I don't really think this is it but...Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter.
The second sounds somewhat familiar but no way that I can recall a name

Hot damn! 43 minutes from the shots expiring. Yep, it is Chaser (the main character was John Chaser.) You were tasked with driving the exoskeleton, fighting off alternating waves of air and ground units coming to reclaim your recently captured complex on Mars. The game was fun, it had good visuals, and an interesting style, but it relied way too much on repetitive corridors and long tunnels when you weren't sure where to go. If they'd shaved a third of each level off, they'd have had a hit. As it was, most people got tired of it halfway through (I finished it out of stubbornness.)SlapBone wrote: Chaser?

Ok, its a 3-D roguelike (with multiplayer) that had awful reviews. Developer had a bit of controversy with his next game.
