None of the above. I was backing out of what amounted to a silly argument (Smeagol wasn't exactly a decent person to begin with, unlike Elrond) in order to start a different silly argument.

I grabbed a copy and looked up the references I remembered. I don't see any indication that it was made after the founding of Erebor, or that it was made in Erebor.

Has a DJ not yet thought to own that middle space and take on the name ?

That classic rock made me think of this thing I saw today in video. If it was under $200 I might sometime get one...at $2000 nope nope but still cool.

The main thing I saw is that it takes all the "manual" out of it, and reduces maintenance and cleaning. The latter because the needle is under the record. The former because it auto identifies track separators, and you can use buttons to skip directly to specific tracks. No more trying to drop a needle on the right spot.

Made me chuckle.

I will note that their primary targets aren't speeders, they're out-of-state plates.

Yeah, that's very weird. You might see Jesus if you don't know who Wick is - but really, same same.

Turns out you can get the same effect by putting it up on your monitor and then getting some distance between you and the image. Just step away about 8 feet and you'll see it almost immediately.

I was just going to suggest people prop up their phone with the image up and step a few feet back.

It pops out.

My wife thinks it looks more like Jerod Leto


I don't think the eyes work with that though... Although she points out that John Wick always has way more straight and greasy looking long hair than that image.


In any case, that's amazing. I'm fascinated with what may be the AI (I assume) method for creating it.

EDIT: I see John Wick! F'n cool.

Once you see it with squint, you can still see it sort of superimposed.

I had to lean back to see it. I wasn't 8' away but about 3'. Now I can see it up close and make out the hidden image. For a while I thought the people saying they saw it were just going along with a joke.

That was actually meant as a joke, juxtaposition of multiple times I haven't seen John Wick.
