It's anarcho-capitalism in a nutshell. Get the government out of the way of business and let the socio-economic darwinism fix things. His big plan is to dollarize the Argentine economy again. I say again because they've tried before. It isn't pants on head crazy but it failed miserably the last time they tried. it's very, very difficult in the best circumstances and he will not be bringing the best and brightest - much like Trump. It'll also lead to different big problems for their economy.

Anyway they have pain ahead.

He also wants to cut gov't departments wholesale (including ones that ensure food safety, etc). He was often shown lifting a chainsaw in the campaign, the promise being that he would carve away big chunks of government.

But if the audio was shared, we would have heard him screaming at the voices everywhere as he swung a chainsaw in the air. Image

I would say I can't possibly understand how anyone would vote for him after that, but we have our own little special example...and to be clear, I'm talking about Trump, here.
This is a case of Argentina being willing to try *anything* but the status quo.

They've got inflation over %140 and a history of of swapping back and forth between dictatorships and elected leaders within living memory. I believe they've made a huge mistake here, but it's not one that's impossible to explain.
Yup, but I expect this to go full Trussterfuck, and expect a lettuce to last longer again.

A car exploded today at the Rainbow bridge (near Niagara Falls) after crossing into the US from Canada.

The explosion killed the people in the car and wounded a customs officer. MSM new outlets are being cautious. Right-leaning news is already declaring it a terror attack and accusing Biden of leaving America vulnerable.

The explosion killed the people in the car and wounded a customs officer. Now that video footage from various angles have come out, it looks like the car jumped a curb going too fast and then went briefly airborne. The explosion seems consistent with a car smashing back down onto its gas tank. If it's a vehicular IED, it's the smallest ever seen.

The amount of stupid I've seen is off the charts. We've got "leaks from the FBI" saying that they found an Iranian and/or Yemeni passport. The QAnon types were screaming false flag at that! Then we had people saying Biden had already ordered a retaliatory strike to distract from his impeachment. Because he is definitely worried about that! And also against who? Then we have the people analyzing the 3 frames of video to say that it is exactly how ISIS terrorists conducted car bombings in Iraq. Mhm. I wish I could beam all of this back to 1995 so that we can just nip all that hopeful information superhighway talk in the bud.

When we heard the report over the radio Wife asked me if I thought it was terrorism. I said that's where our minds naturally go, but let's wait and see what the FBI says. Attacking a border checkpoint seems dumb, and trying to sneak a car bomb through the checkpoint would be even dumber. But the explosion did briefly shut down the border and inconvenience a lot of people's Thanksgiving plans. Since Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the wrong day, this is exactly the kind of attack they'd make on America.

Most terrorists drive up to the target before detonating. They don't fly their car into a nearby parking lot.

The man had plans to attend a KISS concert in Canada but when that was canceled, the man went to a casino in the US instead, investigators believe. The crash occurred sometime after the couple left the casino, law enforcement sources said.

Biden Campaign Posts Bold Thanksgiving Guide for Countering 'Crazy MAGA Nonsense' at the Dinner Table

God the sneering mug of that SOB Trump at the top of that page makes me sick.
The guide shared talking points to respond to conservative rhetoric about subjects from immigration to the economy. One slide included responses to when someone claims "Trump secured our border!" to reply with a "No he didn’t," followed by claims that "All he did was separate families, put children in cages, and leave behind a broken immigration system for Joe Biden to clean up."

To be fair, given that the occupants of the vehicle were wealthy Americans, they probably were extremely dangerous. :coffee:

Victims in Niagara Falls border bridge crash identified as Western New York couple
The two people killed when their car crashed into a border checkpoint in Niagara Falls and exploded in a fiery wreck were identified Friday as a western New York husband and wife whose family owns a lumber business and several hardware stores in the Buffalo area.

The Niagara Falls Police Department named the couple as Kurt P. Villani and Monica Villani, both 53, of Grand Island, New York, a leafy Buffalo suburb close to the falls.

Online business records and the company website indicate the victims’ family owns Gui’s Lumber and seven Ace Hardware locations in western New York, his family operating the business since the mid-1980s. A man who answered the phone Friday at a number listed for Gui’s Lumber declined to comment.

Personally, I wonder if they were mobbed up and this was a hit -- it wouldn't be the first time that someone died due to deliberately faulty brakes. Was Kurt related to Anthony Villani, who is a known associate of the Lucchese crime family? In fact, speaking of crime families, what is the relationship between Ron DeSantis and Big Mike DeSantis, the current acting head of the Lucchese family? Maybe someone should look into that...

So they tried to go a canceled KISS concert and then hung out at a casino instead.

I'm guessing the explosion was a bit of gasoline and a whole lot of blood alcohol.

That's why I indicated the drinky-drinky motion yesterday. I'm sure that they're reviewing the surveillance tapes from the casino at this point. Also: It's possible that if they were actually drunk, the casino could be partially liable.

Theres an old video online of a car speeding at high speed and hitting a toll divider or a bridge abutment and flying like the Dukes of Hazzard. Also seen one where the car hits a roundabout at full speed and flys a mile. no explosions I dont think...maybe the one feeling police in I think an old firebird ..his did explode I believe.

EDIT: Was thinking just now that it is possible....unlikely.....but possible the throttle stuck open. Or they were speeding and something got caught under the brake pedal. Stuff like both those happen. Also possible he simply passed out.

Tell me without telling me that Trump wasn't invited...

Rosalynn Carter: Bidens and former first ladies in Georgia for tribute service
Ex-President Jimmy Carter has attended a memorial service for his wife Rosalynn in Georgia in one of his only public appearance since entering hospice care 10 months ago.

Mr Carter, 99, arrived at the service in a wheelchair and dressed in a dark suit, flanked by his four children.

He was joined in Atlanta by his successors, Presidents Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, as well as a host of other US political leaders.
All four living first ladies - Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton - were among those who attended the service. However, former presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama were invited but not present.
Presumably they meant "former first ladies" since Jill Biden was both present and alive.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville drops his hold on hundreds of military nominees
WASHINGTON — Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., announced Tuesday that he is dropping the bulk of his monthslong hold on hundreds of military nominations.

Tuberville told reporters that he has lifted his hold on all military promotions three-star and below, amounting to over 400 promotions.

“I’m releasing everybody. I still got a hold on, I think, 11 four-star generals. Everybody else is completely released from me.” Tuberville told reporters. “But other than that, it’s over.”

That wound up being a refresher.
Byng was court-martialled and found guilty of failing to "do his utmost" to prevent Minorca from falling to the French. He was sentenced to death and, after pleas for clemency were denied, was shot dead by a firing squad on 14 March 1757.
