Well, I started softening up nongamer Wife for the Fallout TV series. She's heard me talk about the games over the years. She's heard songs from Galaxy News Radio in my MP3 collection. She knows that her (our) employer, the Institute, is a faction. And now she knows that I'm geeked for this upcoming show. It will be interesting to see whether she can pick it up and enjoy the Wasteland as someone who's skeptical and has next to no interest. I'm going to have to resist the temptation to pause the show every few minutes to explain background. :)

She might enjoy some of the trailers/intros/features for the games.

A high quality 6" figure for $20 isn't unreasonable.

It might actually be 4 figures - if you click through to the Amazon listing, there is also picture of a Vault Boy.

I'm pretty interested in this:

Fallout The Series Miniatures

$10 a figure...that's pushing my limit pretty hard. But I have a feeling this series is going to get me itching to play some more Fallout:Wasteland Warfare. Although my brain has already been kicking around the idea of converting it over to Pulp Alley...after playing so much Pulp Alley the F:WW ruleset seems really fiddly to me. But I don't want to derail this conversation too far. Just happy to contribute! :D

Did they just say all episodes available April 10? (watching a commercial during the NCAA championship game). Pretty sure they said all episode April 10. Sweet.

It looks like there's a "Global Fan Premiere" event (i.e. a watch party) starting at that time (1730 PT) leading into a stream of the first episode at 1800 PT/2100 ET.

I watched the first episode tonight via Amazon's watch party thing (which failed hard at first, but they got it working about 10 minutes prior to showtime). They pretty much nailed the setting, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the story plays out for the remainder of the season. I'm not much for binging so I'll spread it out over a few days, one or two episodes a day (most likely).

The music is good, but I was disappointed that there was no Ron Perlman voiceover.
If someone is born and raised in a Vault wouldn't they have at least a little agoraphobia when stepping outside the first time and seeing the wide open spaces and sky?

You'd think so, at least until they came to terms with 'up' not being limited by a ceiling.

I watched the first episode, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. As an honorary Fallout nerd (I've got more Fallout lore in my head than most, but not enough to be a hardcore fan), I didn't see anything that was more than a tweak to the canon, which was nice. I particularly liked (and laughed out loud at) the...

...junk jet. I knew as soon as I saw a doll's leg sticking out of a guy's chest that it was that or a Rock-It Launcher.)
Other things that stood out as cool nods to the games:
Spoiler:
~Playing Atomic Command on a Pip-Boy
~Yum-Yum Deviled Eggs
~Grognak cartoon
~Sugar Bombs
~Tesla magazine
~Tons of little details in the background shots
It's late, so I can't do more than the one episode tonight, but I'm looking forward to the rest.

Ok, there is one big question here that is unanswered -
Spoiler:
What happened to the NCR? This story takes place 16 years after the events of New Vegas, and it takes place right in the NCR’s back yard, so - what happened? The NCR is nowhere to be found. And what else happened? We know the NCR had gotten rid of the raiders, to be fairly advanced technologically, to have “civilized” CA. And yet it looks like things have regressed, gone backwards, to a pre-NCR state. In addition, the BoS is now a power in the So Cal, while they had previously been defeated by the NCR and pushed into irrelevance. I can’t believe this is a continuity error given how careful they seem to be with everything else, so what happened?

Lucy listing her skills at the beginning before the committee was just like you picking your character. Great nod to the games
Lucy wielding the wrench is directly taken from Wasteland Workshop DLC poster
Stimpaks
Sugarbombs
Yum Yum deviled eggs (eaten by the campfire one night)
Grognak comic and TV show
Two headed brahmin (loved that!)
Raiders huffing jet (presumably)
BoS T-60 armor
BoS Scribe uniform
Junk jet weapon
Faithfully modeled pipe rifle used against The Ghoul in the shoot out
Laser rifle carried by Enclave guard
Vault security armor seen after raider attack
Syringer pistol (ok, in the game it was a rifle, but close enough)
Vault Boy bobblehead
Atomic Command on the pipboy
Vertibirds
Probably many more I didn't catch.

My Fallout lore is only from FO4 and the minis game. But I absolutely love FO4, have played through it probably 4-5 times. Watched the first episode last night, and was blown away by how good it looks, how much it felt like playing the game. I'm not going to binge this one, I'm going to let it stretch out across multiple weeks, so I'll be checking out of this thread for a week or so to avoid any spoilers.
