RIP Eric Carmen

Post by McNutt »

Dead at 74

I really loved All By Myself and Never Gonna Fall in Love Again. He did an interview after Celine Dion covered All By Myself where he thanked her profusely for all the new songwriting money it brought him. He seemed like a pretty good guy.

Yeah, those are iconic tunes - RIP Eric. Not exactly my favorite music, but some of his work has real power.
I can see All By Myself stuck in my head today.

For a minute there, I thought Eric Cartman had died.

I'm a huge yacht rock/soft rock fan so Eric often popped up in the rotation. RIP. All By Myself was an absolutely epic song.

RIP

Not my type music either but strangely I really liked many of his releases. I guess its the one that was played on the radio all the time. Those mentioned plus Angel Eyes from Dirty Dancing. Me and my wife loved that movie. And Make Me Lose Control was also a nice song in the late 80s.

Also he was frontman for the Raspberries. Their song Go All the Way was used in Guardians of the Galaxy. And no its not the song by Sly Fox in the 80s.

I sometimes confused his songs with Chris de Burgh when it came to songs like Lady in Red.

Well crap...I didn't realize this, but Eric Carmen was a fellow Ohioan from the same area (or at least nearby) as myself. I mean, his loss was tragic enough, of course. But to find out he's from the same area as me?
