OO Poll - Diablo 4 Clan info here

Clan created - OctopusOverlords (OO) Public so you can search

So, should we setup a Diablo 4 Clan for OO'ers? Mostly for easy, private MP, I guess, tho there are some fun things like News of clan members it appears.

There is a Quarter to Three clan up already as well if we choose not to.

Looks like you can only be in one clan (It's Highlander!)

When you join a party you switch to the leader's server automatically.

Dunno, only did a party with a buddy on PC from my xBox. I think it will move you - it seemed seamless, but you did need to be on the same world level tier (we coordinated starting on tier 2 - adventurer/non-diablo n00b)

Note, you do need to finish the Prologue and get to the first town/town portal area to do Multiplayer.

Did you see my Wanderers clan post? No issue if you want to do a separate OO-specific clan, but half the Wanderes group are current/former OO members already.

I'm up for an OO clan. I like the Wanderers, and have played with them in a few games, but the experience hasn't always been a great one.

I only played with them seriously during New World. But the small remaining core group was extremely mellow. I'm assuming that's because they're all old now.

I'm sorry you have that impression, but I know from some campfire tales some of the guild's history was more tumultuous.

I'm pissed you can only have one clan in Diablo 4, because there are honestly four I have friends/acquaintances in. Including this guild to-be.

Yeah, with 8 saying yes, that seems to be enough. We can always boot it and join other clans I guess. I'll look at it when I get home tonight.

I'd definitely be in for a clan. It seems I'm not as good at this game as I remember being with the previous ones. Never a world-beater, but now the world is beating me a lot.

No, you don't need voice chat (tho you might miss some things, of course). Curved Swords, Krimnal Sopinas, etc.

There's in-game chat though I haven't experimented with it. Ya'll are also welcome to use the OO Discord if you want. Blackhawk is one of the admins, I could also set up anything you need.

Yeah, tho my buddy on PC last night couldn't hear me, and I couldn't hear him. The console (xbox) default seems to be voice chat ON, but I don't know about PC - thinking it may not default to ON based on last night - it showed both voice chat/mic icons, but only mine was lighting up. Current hypothesis is that is may not be enabled by default on PC. There did appear to be options for Clan only, or Party only. I'll probably leave mine to Party only, but if there's an option, I'll enable it.

You may also want to enable Crossplay if it isn't. There's a checkbox in the social tab somewhere (going off of memory, as I'm still at work).

I'll be home around 7pm PST and start work on it then, unless I get too busy playing (my buddy is on EST, so it may need to wait until his wife drags him to hell, er, bed!

When we were playing last night, I kind of wanted to be able to zoom in, and see my buddy's character. Here's how:

To zoom in on the action of Diablo 4, open up your emote wheel then select the “zoom” option in the bottom left corner. Your emote wheel can be opened by pressing up on the d-pad. This zooms close in to your character. It’s cool to see them – and the enemies around you – in more detail, but your field of view is very small. Without seeing exactly what’s happening all around you, you’re leaving yourself open for damage.

Added everyone I could see, and promoted everyone to officer so if you're in, you can check the clan tab and accept requests.

I'll be on again after 7 PST, so hopefully an east coat member can accept any requests.

Group is public so people can find it, if we need to change that, sing out!

Public is good. It lets us find the group without searching for someone to invite us. The downside is that we may very well attract random strangers. A good counter might be for everyone to post their name here when they join - it would make it easy to quickly check if they're an OOer.

Does it use character names or Bnet names?

Then my vote (as a non-member with no vote - I'll join this evening) would be to leave it public to make it easy to find, but only approve people who have posted their name here to keep out the ne'er-do-wells (although I have no issue with 'vouched for' people - I would like to invite my son, for instance.)

Joined the clan this morning! I may not be able to play a ton this week (kid has a choir concert tonight and graduation on Friday) but I should be playing more this weekend.

Are there any benefits to clans in D4 other than a dedicated chat channel?

Haven't seen much besides easy party up and clan chat. Might be for season 1, etc. and I guess there are some PvP zones where Clans may be really helpful, but haven't noticed any yet (probably need to be higher level).

We could also use it to see about the clan storming an area with the daily message to coordinate.

Thanks to Baroquen for help with a stronghold boss. When I tried to solo it I didn't take the boss down fast enough and it called in Balrogs.

No Rogue, but I was doing the druid dungeon.

Yeah, I've been struggling with dungeon bosses solo, so I'm always happy to group up and knock out content. Chances are, like tonight with the stronghold, I haven't done it either. Thought it went pretty smoothly.
