Well that's sad.. My first weight gain and nearly two weeks at this level. On the good side, I've moved back into 40" jeans and even loose 38".

Just ridiculous how much weight I've gained back. But I'm back on the wagon this week. I've proven I can lose it, but I've also proven it takes just a few weeks of not being strict to gain it all back.

Went shopping this weekend and got breakfast and lunch meal plans laid out for the week. Also back to making sure I get 10,000 steps in. Let's see how it goes.

Another week of basically staying the same. As I told the "coaching" call that gets me $ in my health care account I really don't mind staying the same even if I technically have a goal that is slightly lower. I've gone from just over 200 pounds to 185 pounds. Keeping that off is the real win. Moving down to 180 would be nice but is not nearly as important!

The weather is great again and I'm back to walking but it is also spring festival season so I was eating a little worse.

Right now I think I have broken the barrier to be have consistently hit the "merely overweight" by BMI standards mark. I started at "35" now I'm over a week straight at "30".

It's been a while since I remembered to weigh myself on Monday morning. Pretty much right in the range although a little high. It is nice to see that if I ignore things (and have a weekend around Memorial Day that involved a lot of eating) I don't go far wrong.

Weight is all over the place ever day. Right now I'll take 218.5 Tomorrow I could be 222 again.

I do a pound of burrito and three pounds of chili ground round at a time but I portion them over the course of three days for the burritos and a week for the chili (six and nine portions). It's getting harder and harder to maintain, as the app I use cuts my daily calorie ceiling as I lose weight (I started at 2,267 and now and at 2,025. That's an entire snack of nuts or a small snack of crackers gone every day or the difference between splurging on eating an entire pizza for a whole day's food and having to have pizza all day and then put a slice away for breakfast the next day). I started out fantastic but now I'm leveling down to my original planned .5 pounds a week. It's disappointing when I had gotten used to that initial three months of 2.5 pounds a week. This is concurrent with the fact that I can no longer eat my original planned meals and snacks from January, February, and March while still fitting into my budget, so I am trying to revamp my food expectations again. While I'm doing it, it's not working well. I'm often hitting my food intake wall with an early dinner at 17:00 with no snacks later going to bed hungry. I'm used to my food cutoff at 19:00 - 20:00, snacking on a 200-300 calorie snack with several glasses of water.

Still, I'm determined to get below 190 and then I hope to pivot and shoot for 175 as a my stretch goal maintenance weight. I hope I can increase my caloric intake when I get in that target range. 'Cause trying to get to 1800 calories a day is much harder now than it was the last time I did calorie restriction.

I had free doughnuts from Kroger this last week. It was the first confections I've had since early January. They were so much better than I remember doughnuts ever being. At a total of over 900 calories, that plus coffee was my breakfast and lunch. So good.

2 pounds this week. I need to not be disappointed when I step backwards next week. Getting harder and harder to make my daily intake goals. Losing 250 calories a day since January is a big change. That's 10% of my daily diet before walking and takes about 8,000 steps to make up. I'm not taking 8,000 extra steps a day to make it up.

Broke the 50 pound plane for the first time since I formalized a plan. 54 total from my high of 267. 24 more to go until re-evaluation time. Not sure if I will attempt maintenance at 189 or go for a stretch goal of 175. Also for the first time today, the plane for calorie intake dropped below 2000. Shit got real very quickly with regard to restriction. Losing over 250 calories per day from the outset is basically losing snack time or cutting a big chunk out of a daily portion of lunch or dinner or only having coffee for breakfast.

I have to remind myself of that very thing, and that my actual goal is only a half pound a week. It's a hard reminder when I get so hungry and I started out by losing 3-5 pounds a week using the same app tracker I'm using now, while eating nearly 20% more food at the time.

I haven't checked in in awhile, mainly due to just disgust that I fell off the wagon so hard. Just been at best treading water. However, I'm starting to get re-motivated and have started some strength training. Man, I'm at a point (I hope temporary) where I'm always wanting to eat (real hunger? I don't know). I'm barely sticking to my daily calorie consumption guide which ends most days at about 2,200 calories after activity. Weight loss has slowed to about where it's predicted (1/2 pound a week). Aside from the weight loss, the only other thing I got going, is food tastes sooo much better when I'm always hungry and now th'I'been hungry for a good long time, I'm learning to slow down my pace of eating to pretend I'm eating more and savor the food, I guess. I've always been a lightning fast eater. Eating is a thing I did before moving on to other things.

I don't remember this phase the last time I did the diet thing but I guess things change as you age. I also think I went from something like 225 to 175 in these same five months last time and then I just assumed (incorrectly) that five months would change my habits and slowly went back to my normal eating habits. At 213 with a goal of 185, I've got a ways to go this time around and I need to find a way to do a maintenance lifestyle then.

Right now, I'm trying to hold off on breakfast, so I can have a later lunch and then later dinner, so that I can finish my eating properly around 19:00 and not go to bed hungry. At least I'm not getting weak or nauseated yet. That's a definite clue that I've waited too long. :think:

Publix says I'm 235 with my boots on which is a pretty good drop from last time I checked. I guess there are some benefits to soda now being more expensive than I'm willing to shell out. :think:

When I mostly quit Coke, it was about 750 calories a day replace by about 150 calories in sugar and cream added to coffee. Nowadays I still have about 100 colories added to my coffee. Way back when when I lost 20 pounds in something over a month when I did that. And man, pop has never tasted all these years later. It's always a treat when I get it.

More broken record. It seems I've come to a set of habits that settles nicely into the 83/84 kilo range. That's right around the 185 pounds that I really want but it feels like 82 kg / 180 lbs is going to take an actually serious change.

It would help if I didn't like to cook and could treat food as fuel and only fuel!

I just bought cookies and chips for the first time since going on restriction. That probably wasn't smart but I needed to fill a quota to get my discount at Meijer and snacks were the cheapest no brainer way to do it. :oops: As far as fuel goes, that's going to cut down on quantity consumed and at less than 2,000 fuel points a day, it's gonna be pain.

I've avoided chips but I've fallen back into eating ice cream. For years my wife and son would have some after dinner and I'd ignore it but somehow with just the two of us that doesn't work the same.

Treading water as well but trying to get back to basics. What worked? Step goals per day and calorie counting. Period. It wasn't running 5K, it wasn't the rower. All that stuff's great but it isn't what got me to my lowest this year. Walking and not eating as much junk is what worked.

I'm throwing in some strength training as well. Bought some resistance bands and I hit those hard during meetings.

I bought some of that too. 1.5 quarts of Heath Ice Cream for $.49. I couldn't not buy that. No idea when I will get to eat it.

In the next month or so my PT is going to start focusing on strength training. I'm hoping to use that as a catalyst to move general strength training. I was using it as a catalyst for general stretching until I got hurt and needed more rest. I plan to do better stretching again soon as well.

Also calorie counting is the only that works for me as well. Step counting just contributes to my allotment, so walking gets me treats, though in very small quantities. I thing when I break 13000 steps in a day, it's an extra 3xx or so calories, which is a reasonable snack or dinner upgrade. Currently, I think I get about 7 calories per 200 steps beyond the first 5,000. When I'm hard up to eat 2,200 calories in a day, which is what seems reasonable to keep me only a little hungry, I find it a great incentive to pace until I get to something shy of 12,000 steps. It's only going to get worse as I get lighter.

Also, I let it go too much. While I am losing weight (this time) my stomach skin is now loose on the verge of sag. That's a first for me, even as this is my third go round with weight loss. Of course, this is the time that I really am trying to change my lifestyle. No. Seriously. Really. I mean I even quit my job and everything over it.
