Warpips is what would happen if Command and Conquer and Nexus Wars had a baby made out of tanks and napalm! Set loose the engine of war and watch the chaos of physics-based combat explode onto the battlefield! Assemble your army from a diverse roster of infantry, vehicles and airplanes. Deploy troops, call down airstrikes, and launch missiles - all without that pesky micromanagement.
i'm definitely going to try it

I liked some of the flash games with the same gameplay on Kongregate better, to be honest. It feels too limiting to only have access to a couple of units per mission and only be able to build a small handful of them.

It's been a while since I played it, but I liked Duskers so I recommend grabbing it (as if anyone's going to turn down a free game, anyway).

So Rise of Industry is free this week. That's a great price for me. Anyone play this? I keep pulling in free games from Epic and they just collect virtual dust. I tend to like the idea of supply chain games if they have a good supply chain plus factor. My favorite still remains Railroad Tycoon II, which was flawed but did so many things well that I could enjoy it and squint when looking at the flaws. (Soooo sad Railway Empire's stock and economy was utter crap)

Not a fan of TBS games? Warhammer games? Or have you heard really unpleasant things about this one in particular? I usually grab any TBS since I generally like those kind of games. But now I'm thinking maybe I need to do some review diving?

Gladius looks really good. Its tbs but even I admit to having a good feeling for it. Think Ill try it. Hey its free. I love the Warhammer 40k setting. And its new to me. I was tired of HOMM stuff. Fresh is cool.

Heres a direct link for it if anyone cares.

FYI, this has VR support, and the Easter Isle DLC is also free. I don't know that I'll ever play it, but it's nice to know I have the option.

Mordhau is a great game with caveats. It's a standard multiplayer game with the usual modes - deathmatch, control points, objective based, etc. The gameplay is what stands out - the combat feels like a lighter version of Kingdom Come Deliverance's melee with elaborate directional blocking, chambering, ripostes, faints, morphs, and so on, giving the combat a huge amount of depth that takes time to master. And there is a huge range of surprisingly accurate historical equipment (plus a couple 'fun' items, like a frying pan or a lute that can be used as a weapon.) I've had a lot of fun with it from time to time.

The caveat is that it's community is the usual toxic mess that these types of games seem to generate, and it's player count has dwindled, so most of the people playing now are the hardcore players who have been at it for years, and many of them win by using the cheesiest mechanics they can rather than actually fighting.

I don't know whether Horizon Chase Turbo has legs (apparently it gets pretty repetitive), but as something to be played in short bursts it's wowing me. It's the arcade racer I always wanted to play as a kid but could never afford.

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg

They're also having a sale until June 15. 25% coupon to be claimed, as before. New is 'Earn 5% back with Epic Rewards'. Like Steam Points except you get money in your wallet instead of points to be exchanged for stickers, backgrounds, etc.
So sayeth the wise Alaundo.
