Could it be a thermostat? Maybe the engine doesn't know that it's warmed up. I vaguely remember that happening to one of our cars in the distant past.

I was reading online where a salvage team working for The History Channel had been off Florida's coast looking for WW2 stuff when they found part of shuttle Challenger. Pretty cool but also saw it mention NASA was going to decide what to do with and talk to the loved ones of the lost astronauts about it.

Thats when I saw June Scobee Rodgers was still alive. I had thought I read of her death this year but it was her husband since 1989. Man I guess I wasn't paying attention when I read his news. Also I failed to realize she lives in Chattanooga and has since 89 doh. I now remember seeing local news talk to her on other occasions lol. Silly me.

Without house water it takes me 7 or 8 jugs of microwave heated water to get kinda clean..not great clean but enough. I wonder how many gallons I use when its a normal shower.

Wow more than Id have thought.

Today was amusing mail day. I got 3 letters each fro ma different government agency. All stated this is not a bill and we're just writing a letter to send it to you.

The 4th was my car warranty is expired and I should act fast. Wasn't even my car listed. They suck at their scamming. Wish they'd all fall dead.

One of these things may be of better use for you. Drop it in a bucket of water, heats the whole thing in a couple of minutes.

Just got done scheduling my vacation time for the rest of the year. By my count, starting tomorrow there are 31 working days left in the year. I'll be taking off 16.5 of those 31 days.

I really need to start spreading out my vacation time better.

Full disclosure... I was late because I went over and took the book off the shelf to verify the image. That's when I noticed that there was an entry for the 10th as well. :)

We also have 31 working days left, of which I am taking 17 days off. I win!

Also, I worked 2 days last week and 3 days the week before. I took one day of vacation prior to November. I get 22 per year.

20 is the max (for exempt) we get plus two floating holidays. I'd say it's kind of a bummer after working here 20 years I get the same as someone that has been here 5, but since I don't use it, it doesn't really matter.

We're 23 days for less than 10 years of service, and 28 days for more. I took a hit when they changed to this a while back since I've got 25 years as of Thursday, but I'm also in the struggle-to-fit-it-all-in category anyway (and we can't roll it over or cash it out).

We go 2 weeks at one year, 3 at five, 4 at 10, and then 1 more day every 5 there after. It was based on next calendar year and not start date and that was pretty shitty. I was up to 21 days when I left. We also the "standard 11 holidays" and we allowed "automotive shutdown", and additional 4 days before XMas and New Years if our work was caught up. Sick time was "don't abuse it" until FMLA became a thing then it became a doctor's note = sick day. That may have changed from the before times, though. Time off was use it or lose it and a lot of us, myself included, lost a lot of days. One year I lost 11 vacation days. I can't speak for others but it made me bitter. My boss always said just take the days, but the work is more difficult and stressful when it stacks because you take time off. They needed more staff and likely still do but it's not my problem any more. :D

You had one tech guy. We have ~12,000. I could take a skip day and there's a decent chance my boss wouldn't even notice.

Hindustan Times
1987: Matej Gaspar, five millionth baby

Born in July 11, 1987, Gaspar found himself surrounded by politicians and flashing cameras on his tiny face at a suburb in Zagreb, the capital city of Croatia. A UN official named Alex Marshall told BBC that the projections suggested the world population would pass the five billion mark on that day. Thirty five years later, Gaspar is married and works as a chemical engineer in Zagreb.

1999: Adnan Mevic, six billionth baby

When Adnan was born on October 12, 1999, then UN secretary general Kofi Annan was present to christen him. He lives with his mother Fatima outside Sarajevo, and is worried that nobody will be left to pay for the pensions for retired people.

With a masters in economics, Adnan says he will move to the European Union if he is unable to find a job, the BBC report stated. Adnan says being a six-billionth baby had its perks too, the most memorable one being him meet his hero Cristiano Ronaldo.

2011: Sadia Sultana Oishee, seven billionth baby [Bangladesh]

When Oishee was born at one minute past midnight, she was surrounded by TV cameras and officials jostling against each other to have a look at her. Eleven years later, she is determined to become a doctor. Her family moved to a villae because their business of selling fabric and saris was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
