Over 7,000 people came out for Bernie's rally in GR yesterday:

I think tomorrow is the nail in the coffin for Bernie. He's trailing in Michigan, and probably won't win a single state tomorrow. Pretty hard to come back from that.

Re: Go Bernie!
Tomorrow's going to be bad, but the nail in the coffin (barring a dramatic change in the race) is going to come on the 17th, when he's likely to get completely annihilated in Florida (and do very badly in NY as well).

I'm not sure Bernie (or his supporters) are ready for that realization.

Sorry, the 17th states are actually Florida, Ohio, Arizona, and Illinois. I think I was thinking of Ohio, where Sanders is likely to do badly (and which has a non-trivial number of delegates), though not quite as bad as the disaster that Sanders is facing in Florida.Jeff V wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 2:06 pmAccording to the NYT, New York's primary isn't until April 28.

Wow. I guess I am a weather vane for the state but I don't believe it. I voted for Sanders in 2016 and I have no intention of voting for him tomorrow. I assumed the state would still break for him in 2020. (I still do)

Re: Go Bernie!
I've lost the link, but I read that Bernie has called Joe Biden a friend and has stated that he would support him if he's the nominee. This is since the Biden resurgence, so Bernie might be seeing the writing on the wall and actually trying to head off the ugly reaction we'll be seeing from his fans.

I think the Bernie brand was damaged by his own behavior after losing to Hillary. He sort of went from an intriguing enigma to Crazy Uncle Bernie overnight.LordMortis wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 3:47 pmWow. I guess I am a weather vane for the state but I don't believe it. The BBC has a lengthy retrospective on the Sanders campaign.

Re: Go Bernie!
When a talk show host (Seth Meyers, I think) asked Bernie what was in the envelope, he answered with a watered-down version of "If I told you I'd have to kill you."
Also, your pics always appear as an "Enlarge Image" text link. Is that special for me, or is it everybody?

I think Bernie was joking and was about to divulge what it was, but Seth just kept going and cut him off.Kraken wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 12:59 amWhen a talk show host (Seth Meyers, I think) asked Bernie what was in the envelope, he answered with a watered-down version of "If I told you I'd have to kill you."

Re: Go Bernie!
I can make Dae's graphics display by allowing OO into Facebook Container (i.e., allowing Facebook to track me here). But doing so changed my theme from Dark to Ugly. IDK what that indicates, but FB Container is apparently blocking Dae's images for some reason.stessier wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 5:54 amFine for me as well.Jaymann wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 1:14 amThey looked fine to me on Firefox/Duck Duck Go.Kraken wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 12:59 amWhen a talk show host (Seth Meyers, I think) asked Bernie what was in the envelope, he answered with a watered-down version of "If I told you I'd have to kill you."

I assume it's because they're linked from Facebook. If I'm browsing at work through my work VPN, Facebook is blocked. If I look on my phone or on my home computer, I can see them.

Wheres Bernie? I found him in all three so he is there. But I had to look at hints and the answer for 2 of the 3. I found him by myself in the sky pic.

Re: Go Bernie!
Maureen Dowd (NYT) has breakfast with Bernie.
“Maureen, let me just tell you what we’re trying to do here,” he says. “We’re working on what I think is the most consequential piece of legislation for working families since the 1930s.”
Sanders, long a wilderness prophet in Washington, a man who wrote a memoir bragging about being an outsider, admits that it is strange to be a key member of The Establishment. As the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, the democratic socialist is now pulling the levers in the control room.
He has changed the whole debate in the nation’s capital. He is the guy trying to yank his party back to its working-class roots and steer President Biden in a bolder, more progressive direction.
Mirabile dictu: A president and senator who are both pushing 80, men who were underestimated and dismissed for years in Democratic circles, are now teaming up to transform the country. It’s the Bernie and Joe show.
...
While the two men disagree on a lot of things, the former Senate colleagues and 2020 rivals share a mutual respect. Sanders has easy access to the White House. It is a big difference from the way he was treated in 2016 by Clinton, Inc. Not only did Hillary’s henchmen run a nasty campaign and try to rig the primaries; Hillary herself would later say about him in a 2020 documentary: “Nobody likes him. Nobody wants to work with him.”
Sanders says he gives the president a lot of credit for looking at the budget not just as numbers on a spreadsheet but as a chance to reshape the American identity.
...
Sanders, who has talked about spending up to $6 trillion on the reconciliation package, says he will not support a two- or three-trillion-dollar bill. “That’s much too low.”
