EPIC Christmas Sale
EPIC Christmas sale going on until Jan 1
Some games on sale and for every game you buy you get a $10 coupon.
So I bought Phoenix Point for $29.99 (regular sale) then Outer Worlds for $34.99 (sale + coupon) then Rebel Galaxy Outlaw for $12.49 (sale + coupon)

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
This is going to require some fancy planning when I'm off to the relatives during the holidays. Would be nice if Epic would just let me tick a box and put each day's free game directly into my library

It gave me a $10 coupon and I didn't buy anything.

I might use that $10 coupon and get the Phoenix Point season pass, since even with the bugs I'm really enjoying it.

That's...kind of a big deal. I mean, assuming it's not shovel-ware. The first game is a solid choice.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I don't think season pass and dlc are eligible

I don't think so either.
Some decent choices are Jedi Fallen Order, Control, Rebel Galaxy and Metro.
I'm on the fence about picking up MW5.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
Well for the past few months each Thursday there were 2 free games and they haven't been shovel ware. One week, for example, was all the Arkham Batman games. Problem has been that I've pretty much owned all the free games but it's a good ploy on their part

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
I was actually hoping to use it for the Borderlands 3 DLC or season pass. Damn. What qualifies as an eligible game for the $10 Epic Coupon?
The $10 Epic Coupon can only be used on games already released on the Epic Games Store and priced at $14.99 or more after sale discounts have been applied. This coupon cannot be used on pre-purchases or any non-game purchase such as add-ons (like DLC or season passes) or in-game purchases (such as in-game currency, like Vbucks in Fortnite, or upgrades like Save the World mode).

It appears you are correct. I'm posting over on the Snapshot Games forum (developers of Phoenix Point) to see if that might help.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
I picked up The Division 2 as a likely co-op game, but I'm holding off on other purchases until the end of the sale/giveaway for exactly this reason. That said, The Outer Worlds is really, really appealing right now, and it's unlikely that they'll be giving that away. Maybe I'll get some cash for Christmas...

Today's game is Towerfall Ascension. Never heard of it
TowerFall Ascension is the definitive version of the hit archery combat game. Inspired by classics from the golden age of couch multiplayer, it's a 4-player local party game centering around hilarious, intense versus matches

Uh-oh, I was afraid of this. Give us one really good game to get us to want to check their site every day, then put up trash not-very-appealing-games. Well, we're smarter than that. WE HAVE A THREAD!

The reviews for it are good and based on the games they've given away all fall I feel like there will be better to come

Certainly you might be right, I’m just wondering if these freebies might make people hold off on buying games, as someone mentioned above.

The main issue is that most of the quality games that you can reasonably expect them to give away for free they already did since they opened...if they start duplicating them they'll get complaints

$29.99 was the magic price to get me to buy and get an Epic account, I guess. 15 gig foot print on my machine. Guess I'll play tomorrow.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
Today's free game is Superhot - rated Very Positive on Steam and costing about $13 Canadian (I figure that'll be what most of this free games will be selling for)
SUPERHOT is the first-person shooter where time moves only when you move. No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It's just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing weapons off enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through bullets.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
Spent the coupon on Operencia, picked up Into the Breach even though I already owned it; skipped the second day's free game but jumped on superhot. I've been snagging their weekly free games and have purchased Outer Worlds and Metro: Exodus.
I am absolutely a fan of Steam's business and community model but I have no complaints about Epics entry into the space. Looking forward to wishlists and prices reflecting local currency, though.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
Likewise. I've been looking at the games between $14.99 and $20 to see what $10 coupons can bring me. So far, The Division 2 and Operencia, but I'm looking closely at Metro: Exodus. I will likely wait until I see more of what they give away first.

If I'm understand correctly, if you spend the $10 coupon in getting a game, you get another $10 coupon? Is that correct?

Little Inferno is a perfect game for the holiday gaming insanity. I don't know about your guess, but this is the first time I'm noticing the stylized icon provided for the next day's listing.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I already own Little Inferno and can strongly recommend. Today was the first day I noticed the stylized icon that made me think of a specific game, so it really is just a guess.

Re: EPIC Christmas Sale
I don't really have any idea what Ape Escape is, but it keeps popping up on year end "best of" lists, so I'll at least grab it.
Side note: I've got way too damn many of these "freebie" games that I've never even booted up. Currently installed with the icons taunting me from my desktop are:
- Moonlighter
- The Messenger
- For the King
- Little Inferno
- Rayman Legends
- Ape Escape
- Surviving Mars
- Ruiner
- Oxenfree
- Slime Rancher
- Rime
They're all "I'll get around to them someday" games...that I have yet to get around to.
I'm stumped as well.

Not on Epic Store, as far as I can tell.
