Because it was the one thing we were missing to complete the set. Seriously, whoever is playing Sim Earth with us has gotten bored.

Tsunamis while at sea are almost unnoticeable. It's not until they are forced upward by the shore that they become visible and start wrecking shit.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

Strange how it continues to rise during the filming. Side note: I used to live there.

I forgot to call it "a box of pure malevolent evil, a purveyor of
insidious insanity, an eldritch manifestation that would make Bill
Gates let out a low whistle of admiration," but it's all those, too.

Why is that strange? If you are there before the peak, you're going to see it rise until it does reach the peak.

By the time it hits California it's more of a surge than a giant wave. It will rise more slowly. Especially that far off the shore.

I remember the tsunami that hit southern California from the Alaskan earthquake. It was more of a tidal surge than a giant wave. There were a lot less people living on the ocean front too so less people to affect.

I have probably been there over a dozen times over the years. I remember one trip when the surfers were holding a wake for a drowned surfer out in an area to the north of the pier. Beautiful area, but full of wacky people. And way to expensive.

It's definitely a nut magnet, and even back then was very expensive. I rented a room, shared a room with my girlfriend, and lived in a living room separated by a paper curtain. But it was still a great period of my life.

What are you referring to? The dust and ash? I don't think that's a permanent feature.

The ash and I suppose the dust. And I realize it's temporary but that's what I'm talking about. If was there permanently no one would live there.
