Must have been an easy one today; this is only the second time I've played, and the first time I gave up after 100+ guesses.

Must have been an easy one today; this is only the second time I've played, and the first time I gave up after 100+ guesses.

I'd say it was easier than most of the ones I've done. It included a significant word which wasn't redacted and provided a fairly strong clue as to the subject of the article. I haven't noticed that before. Perhaps they're dumbing down changing up the game to make it more approachable.

Another day, another participation trophy. My new rule is that I take one hint every hundred guesses whether I want to or not.

I solved Semantle #110 in 314 guesses with 3 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 8.17. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #12. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 17.01.

I (correctly, for a change) guessed the context of the article at the outset. Most of the time I guess a lot of words that get me nowhere or lead me off in the wrong direction until I finally hit a key clue that rapidly leads to the solution. In this case, I pretty much started with the "Eureka!" moment. Even at that, about half the guesses were words I tried in order to fill in phrases rather than directly narrow down the solution.
