My PC has GTX 1060 6 GB and 1440p monitor. I'm thinking of upgrading to RTX 3070 or 3060 Ti.

My PC only has i5-9400F processor so maybe both will bottleneck the CPU.

Current price for in stock RTX 3070 is 638 USD. RTX 3060 Ti is 565 USD. The prices are much higher than the list price which is normal for middle to high end GPU in Indonesia.

I think RTX 3060 Ti is enough because of the CPU but the price difference is only 74 USD.

Suggestion?

The only two facts Im sure of is the 3060 ti is cheaper and the 3070 out performs it.

I bought RTX 3060 Ti because it is cheaper and also only require 1 x 8-pin power cable. The 3070 model that is available need 2 x 8 pin power cables.

Since I'm okay with 40 fps gaming, I think 3070 is overkill. 3060 Ti is more than enough for someone like me.

Upgraded to 3060 Ti. Tried benchmark with AC Valhalla and got 57 fps at Ultra High setting 1440p.

Looking at https://www.gpucheck.com/game_gpu/assas ... tx-3060-ti, seem like my result match the result for 3060 Ti with i5-9400F. According to that site, for Ultra High Setting, the i9-10900K only reach 61.2 fps, so I'm happy with 57 with my budget i5-9400F CPU.

I cant play that on my gtx 950 hehe. Im hoping that once the house is paid off in 4 years I can save a year then build a system. I think the biggest prob my 950 has is the 2 gig memory. Just cant hold textures. I think your ti has 8 gig + ray tracing. Congrats on it. And you have $74 or so to buy a game or two and a burger.
