Darksiders 2 and Kung Fu Panda are the PS+ games for December. I'll probably give Darksiders a try; the first game was fine, although not especially exciting or innovative.

It was great during the PS3 era, but when the PS4 launched they sucked the life out of it and started pushing nothing but indie fighting games, shmups, and platformers.

Re: PS+ / Xbox Live! Gold free games thread
For March:
Bloodborne, PS4
Ratchet & Clank, PS4
Legend of Kay, PS3
Mighty No. 9, PS3 (Cross Buy with PS4)
Claire: Extended Cut, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
Bombing Busters, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
Also, it has been announced that March 2019 (one year from now) will be the last time that there are PS3 or Vita games in the monthly library addition. On the one hand, not as many people play on those systems these days (I wish I could un-buy my Vita.) On the other, though, it means that we will go from six games a month to two. One thing isn't entirely clear, though:

What about games I haven't downloaded? Does this mean that the PS3/Vita games not physically downloaded will cease to be available? This won’t affect any games you’ve already downloaded, or will download, prior to March 8, 2019.

Isn't it already that way? PS+ games that aren't downloaded in their free month are no longer available to download for free once that month has passed. If you're asking about in the entire store, though, or if you can re-download games you've previously purchased, I don't know.

ComingSoon
Those games will still be part of your PS Plus games library as long as you remain a member.
...
Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 – as part of the Games with Gold program. On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download the arcade shooter Trials of the Blood Dragon for free during the month of March and the slow-mo shooter SUPERHOT from March 16th to April 15th. On Xbox 360 (with Xbox One backwards compatibility), fans get the movie tie-in Brave: The Video Game through March 15th and the puzzle platformer Quantum Conundrum for free from March 16 to March 31.

Re: PS+ / Xbox Live! Gold free games thread
Nope. You never have to download them at all. Right now when you get them, you go through the store as if you were buying them (they just cost $0.) Once you've done so, they show up on your list, theoretically forever. You can download them whenever you like (as long as you have an active membership.) If your membership lapses, the whole library will still be there when you resubscribe. I just recently downloaded a PS4 game for the first time that I got several years ago.Ralph-Wiggum wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:26 pm Isn't it already that way? I saw that statement as well, however it still seems to contradict the implication of the previous statement. Generally a direct statement is going to be more accurate than an implication, so hopefully it is just bad phrasing. Those games will still be part of your PS Plus games library as long as you remain a member.

Huh - I didn’t realize that. I knew that once you downloaded a game you could then delete it and redownload it for free, but I thought if you passed up or missed a game one month, you would then have to pay the normal store price for it. I’ll need to check that out, since there are definitely months I’ve forgotten to download a game.

You still have to go through the 'buying' process for each one to add it to your account. You just don't need to actually download them.Ralph-Wiggum wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2018 8:48 pm Huh - I didn’t realize that. Ah, ok. That makes sense. I guess I just always download the ones I “bought” right away.

I thought this was really cool. I wouldn't mind having Bloodborne forever... then I tried to add it to my account.. oh yeah, this is one of four console games I have ever bought digitally. Dammit.

Polygon
Kicking things off is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, the third and final game in Climax Studios’ series of side-scrolling platformers featuring new Assassin protagonists. Originally released in February 2016, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia will be available free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox One for the duration of June.
The other Xbox One game for the month is Smite, the multiplayer online battle arena game featuring various gods and mythological figures. Smite is a free-to-play title, but Xbox Live Gold subscribers can get the game’s Gold Bundle — whose contents, which include items exclusive to Gold members, are valued at $99.99 — for free from June 16 to July 15.
On Xbox 360, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be available free from June 1-15, while Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues will be free for the second half of the month. Both games will be playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility.
