That was not my reaction. In retrospect, they get a chuckle - at the time, just no.

But, if you play with Teggy he will play the sniper class and always be in the front. His Zero was usually getting shot in the back by my gunzerker. So there was no sniping, there was running in and shooting all the faces and then yelling for a res when you got downed. So much fun.
Bet you thought I wasn't going to see this. My Zero was awesome, although not as trollish as my claptrap.

This appears to be much quicker - after 2 hours I'm already ranked 3rd and hunting 2nd. Of course, it probably helps that I'm level 37.

Oh yes!

If you do the race side quest(s) - the one where you have to zoom around on the road that circles the crater while bandits attack you, you'll find it helpful to have the "Afterburner" relic (you should have gotten this from Ellie in the main game). Also, the bandit vehicle with the catapault (sp?) is supposed to be slightly faster than any of the other vehicles you can get. Also there are some shortcuts you can take.

Thanks! I managed to beat the first two levels without it. The third level is Level 50, so I'll have to wait a bit on that.

I beat Piston and moved onto Sir Hammerlock's Big Hunt. Er...it scales higher than Level 30. Normally I would love that, but I am Level 38 now playing with Level 30 weapons. I'm getting destroyed. So it's off to TVH mode to get some better weapons before heading back. Also, that level doesn't seem to drop anything good. And those witch doctors - ack!

I wish I could remember what weapons you find in Hammerlock's.
Have you done Tiny Tina's yet? There's a fun shotgun you get from a side mission that I think becomes available after or nearly after you finish the central story. I found it very effective against the giant spider-like things (drifters?). Just get underneath them and shoot. I don't know if other shotguns are as effective.

Sir Hammerlock's DLC
Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt brings a small series of Hammerlock-themed weapons. Some may bear the special prefix "Sir Hammerlock's", and all are manufactured by Jakobs.

Damned Cowboy - (Assault Rifle) a rare drop from Bloodtail.
Elephant Gun - (Sniper Rifle) a rare drop from Arizona.
Hydra - (Shotgun) a rare drop from Rouge.
Rex - (Pistol) a rare drop from Bulstoss.
Rough Rider (Shield) a rare drop from The Bulwark

I started TVH mode with Zero and it was tough going - but then the Level 35 weapons started to drop (I'm Level 39 and was playing with Level 30) and boy - what a difference!! Still have to spend most of the time running away, but occasionally there is room to set up a nice long shot and yes, indeed, I liked that!

Rapid Skags/Stalkers. They just suck. Plain and simple.
That is so the wrong order. The Lunatics are a problem, but I seem to find a way to handle them. The Rabid Skags, though -

I lured an Armored Lunatic to a Rabid Skag and it wasn't even close to a fair fight - the Lunatic never had a chance. I'm very thankful Zero can disappear and run fast...

Well... I hadn't meant that to be the order. That was just as they occurred to me.

The Lunatics can be tough if you don't have a decent corrosive weapon. But now I always carry one, so they are a lot less annoying.

Rapid skags/stalkers, on the other hand, are never easy. The Siren has the best shot of making it easy... assuming both her bubble is available, and she has a solid weapon.

Keep an eye on the witch doctors. That is, if you don't want to have to log out and restart. They "can" be the hardest mobs in the game. If you let them.

As I noted, it was way too hard for the weapons I had. Those witch doctor's were the worst. There was a vampire one that I could...not...kill. I died a bunch trying though.

Now that I have Zero in TVH mode, I still die more than I'd like, but I remember having the same problem on the first play through. I simply can't do crowd control. I tried to survive Tina's party for Fleshstick and only made it past the first wave once on 15 attempts. I only died twice, but the other 13 times the generator would die. I get plenty of one shot sniper kills, but when there are 11 targets, I can't switch fast enough to keep them from running by. Since then I've leveled up twice and am thinking of giving it another shot. At some point I'll be so powerful they won't stand a chance, right? :)

That does work. The only drawback is then the reward is too low level for you.

If you ever get stuck, you can always ask someone to come in and give you a hand.

I just took down Shorty with Zero. I am at level 45 and it was tough going walking through the stalker laden approach...and then the Rabid Stalkers started coming. Fortunately, I had just found a 110k explosive rocket launcher. Oh sure, firing it at my feet killed me (only 35k shield and 17k health) while only wounding the RS, but the second shot killed him dead and resurrected me. TAKE THAT!!!

Now that you know where Shorty first appears, you may be able to take him down immediately. It's nice to not have to go through all those stalkers if you don't have to.
If you find it too hard to kill him outright (the stalker, at least), don't worry about it. We did this about a week ago but there were two of us.

I'm not sure exactly what I did, but Zero just took down Bunker in like 10s. I used a slag SMG, but it was only a green. The bullets made the sound that I've come to associate with going through one target and then hitting another (or maybe ricochetting) - I think using Bore. But I don't know what it was Boring to. It was amazing to see the health stream down so quickly though. It wouldn't let me kill it until it pulled out the Big Gun - then one shot finished it off. I was amused.

Maybe it was because of the turrets? I think they count as a separate target. So you might have been getting the bore effect. That is pretty sweet!

That has to be it. I mean, I didn't even have to reload and the SMG only had a 23 bullet clip.

Wow, my progress has dropped to nothing. I'm Level 50 (nearly 51) and stuck in Sawtooth - partly because I don't have time to sit for 2 hours to play through it but mostly because it's going to take me 2 hours to play through it. Zero can't kill anyone anymore. Well, that's not true, I can, it's just I can only do it one at a time and it involves a lot of running away. There is some Level 52 Gravedigger dude whom I do not appreciate at all. But even just the normal Mobs are super tough all of a sudden - and no one is dropping any experience. I'm using Level 48+ weapons (including several Level 50 sniper rifles), so I don't think it should be this bad and yet...

I'm thinking maybe I'll do a few side quests, but none of the ones available are Level 50, so it's likely I'll just be spinning my wheels. Maybe I'll go back to the Eridium Wastes and play around there a bit (although I was dying there pretty easily as well).

I have a metric ass-ton of level 50 weapons from an event they ran. Let me know if you want to see what I have.

Other than "slag 'em" and "use the appropriate element type", I'm not sure what other advice I can offer. Are you in UVHM? Or still running through the second playthrough?

I actually finished raising the flags mission and then had to help the kids with something and had to shut down. So frustrating!!! I was 2/3 of the way through at that point!

I won't do the delivery one's either. I also don't go to the Caustic Caverns - I just hate that place. The Fridge is pretty low on the list as well, although I don't mind taking out Shorty.

I like Caustic Caverns. If... IF... you have the right weapons. Then it's not too bad.

I don't mind the flag mission but I agree - Sawtooth takes way too long (if you do the side quests - and you might aw well since you have to go to all the places anyway).
I hate the Scooter quest where you take pictures around Thousand Cuts then he writes a gawdawful poem that you have to give to Daisy. And I don't like many of Hammerlock's quests.

I have a level 53 or so gunzerker and can help you out if you need/want.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

I like that one! I don't like that it makes her off herself - it seems she should do something to him, but I understand the sentiment.

I'll keep that in mind! :)

Once you get into the building, it's not bad at all - it's just getting there - sheesh! And the rewards just don't seem worth the hassle.

I don't mind most of Hammerlock's quests, but I really hate the mutating Varkid one. Super Badass Mutant Varkids - At least they are aptly named.

You can actually avoid a lot of the trash in CC, with a little luck. And there are areas that can be ignored completely.
