I'm going to try and vote tomorrow if I have the time. Not that my vote counts for anything here in Texas.

Vote 3rd party then. Show your disapproval with both sides. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it.

I don't disapprove of both sides. It's just that the guy I'm voting for doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of taking Texas ;).

You're the first person I've heard of that would vote for Kerry with a reason other than, "I like Edwards" or "He's not Bush."

Oh please. I just wrote a 2,000-word letter to my parents and friends explaining why I'm voting for Kerry. Much of it is because of things Bush has done wrong, but "he's not Bush" is not a reason to vote for anyone.

I'd vote for Bush if he appeared to be more thoughtful, if he hadn't rushed into war in Iraq, if he didn't hate gay people, if he would brook dissent like a mature adult... I mean, why not? I voted for him in 2000.

I was not very impressed with Kerry till I watched him in the debates. Though I know he lied in some respects (as it seems most politicians do), I still found him to at least seem like a good man. After running through factcheck and stuff on him, I would say he is indeed qualified enough to be president. Sure he isn't the *best* that the democrats could do, but he is good enough.

Also, he has promised a 4000 tax credit for families with kids in college. That sounds like a GREAT idea to me.
I'm special!

I haven't voted yet, but it's already too late. Kerry won my state. Believe it or not, the Bride of Ironrod insists on voting for him anyway, as if it matters. "Vote your conscience," I tell her. "Vote for someone you can believe in." But she believes in John Kerry. I am so embarrassed for her.

I voted today on the computerized ballot box. Not an issue for me, but I really believe these things should produce a hard copy.

Oh, and I voted against every single bond issue to "improve" the city. You have to love how they leave the fact that money would be raised through increases in property taxes, etc.

I got my absentee ballot in the mail last week, but I haven't voted yet. I'm waiting for something to happen to tell me who to vote for.

You hear the Kerry and Bush? Do something for me!

Actually I know the President, I just don't know ANYTHING about any of the state/local stuff that is up for voting.

Excuse my ignorance, this will be my first time voting, but how are you guys voting so early? Mail ballots? Man, I need to get on that deal... not looking forward to getting up early and standing in line at the local school, though I do want my damn "I vote(d)" sticker.

Haha, I never would have guessed Montana would be considered a smart state. Maybe the people out in the woods arent taken into account :D .

yeah, I remember that libertarian who turned blue. Pretty funny stuff. I actually dont normally vote libertarian,. its just I dont support either of our main candidates for our 1 seat in the house, so I went with the third.

I wish I would have known a little more about a couple of the local elections, but I still think I knew enough to make an informed decision. You just never hear anything beyond the condidates for President, congress and governor.

One thing im happy about this election is that no matter what we get rid of our current governor because she is stepping down. Yay!! Anyone is better then her.

I voted this morning in Virginia at 0700. Didn't have to wait much more than 15 minutes. I'm glad I got it over with early. I can't imagine how busy it will be after work today.

I went at 7:00 this morning and the line was wrapped around the building, with people parking on both sides of a 4-lane major road and walking across just to get in. I turned around and left - it would have been a good 2-3 hour wait.

Going to take the afternoon off and go about 1:00 after the lunch crowd.

I tried to vote this morning but there was an hour and a half wait with roughly 150 people in line. This was at 7:00 AM this morning when the polls opened.

I'll leave work a little early and try it again tonight.

Answer me this: Why the hell do retired people in Florida insist on voting first thing in the morning? Wouldn't you think that they would wait until the off hours of 10:00 AM or 2:00 PM when all of us normal working people are working? Drives me freakin nuts!

In before the recount!

I voted around 6:40 AM here in Indy, and there was already a line out the door (though not nearly as long as those that some of you are describing). Glad I got it over with early, as I wasn't looking forward to standing in line till 8:00 tonight...

Heh, I just saw that Fox News has Kerry up by 2 points in their last poll before the election!

Then, Karl Rove farther down the page, claims Bush has "momentum" and is going to win easily

Yeah, nice try Karl, except his momentum is heading him straight out of the White House...

I waited over an hour in line and then commuted into work and I still can't get the bitter taste of voting Kerry out of my mouth. That is the most painful vote I have ever cast. Aside from that I mainly voted Libertarian or Tax Payer party where I thought the Libertarians were too kooky.

Kirk will be happy to know that I voted in favor of same sex marriages. I will say, even though I know same sex couples with children, the one thing that makes me uncomfortable about same sex marriage is child rearing. But with the wording of the proposal, there was no way I would turn marriage in itself. (Sorry, Kirk, I know somehow this means I hate your very existence, but it just makes me uncomfortable. I feel/think/believe that currently there is an additional unnecessary durress added to a child's life. Perhaps the world will be a different place by the time I die)

I didn't have time this morning, and so I'm a little concerned about your stories about lines... well I live in college land, and didn't have to wait for more than a minute for the primaries... so if I have to wait in line, that will be a good sign for young voter turnout. Even though it will be a meaningless gesture for any Massachussets resident.

Not really bait. The only two things I voted on that "moved" me were my vote for president and my vote on same sex marriages. As Kirk has been very vocal about this for awhile, he was naturally the first thing I thought about. (and he did not help me to vote the he wanted to, but that's another story) The closest other thing I voted on to moving me was to make sure that all future casino and gambling expansion in Michigan is brought directly before the voters. That would have seemed like a no brainer to me, except they slipped in all the expansion that is already grandfathered in by existing governmental policy making. It really pisses me off to see our great governor  and esteemed members of the MEA coming out against this. But then again, I despise our governor already.

Hey! I voted the same as LM. (except on Prop 1)

And proposal 2 (state constituion gay marriage ban) was atrocious. If that goes through I weep for our state (Michigan).

But are you voting no to more gambling or are you voting yes to a gambling monopoly?

I voted no on Proposal 1. Local governments should be allowed to decide these things on their own, not at the whim of voters 350 miles away.
