Holy crap... I've heard this record before and have tried to get into this band and failed. I finally got this album though (Universe)... it unfolds after multiple listens like a progressive record. I kept telling myself it feels like a desert/stoner rock Lateralus, though I know that's probably not an accurate comparison.

Loved SoF. Always wated to see them in concert, but never got the chance before they broke up.
Went to a concert to see Del Amitri and the back up was some dude name Josh Clayton Felt.
Never heard of him and figured we could show up late.
As we were walking into the hall, we started hearing the music of the back up band and noticed it sounded very familiar.
Turns out JCF WAS School of Fish.......DOH.......

Had not heard of this guy but a buddy of mine is a professional photographer and recently covered a music festival Grandson performed at and said he was just phenomenal live.

The new Goatpsalm album is probably my most anticipated for the remainder of 2021. The first released track this week definitely ramps up that enthusiasm.

This new Wharflurch album came out of nowhere and has floored me. It's a crazy mix of ambient, death, doom, black, drone, electronica, and sheer madness. Highly, highly recommended.

The funkiest instrumental-only Beastie Boys songs I can find. They are legion.

The local dinosaur rock station just admitted the decade of the 90's. So now they play some grunge, Green Day, etc. I'm liking their expanded play list, I was getting tired of the same old shit all the time. Still, a censored version of Longview by Green Day is something nobody wants to hear.

Cynic released their first track since the passing of Sean Malone (bass) and Sean Reinert (drums). It's a beautiful piece.

I had never heard this before, samples of Hendrix made into different songs. Some are pretty catchy.

It's kinda cheating, but my students all week have been listening to various classical music (Haydn, Bach, Mozart), ambient sounds (campfire at night, thunderstorms, waves on a beach), and today we're listening to soundtracks for games and movies (Skyrim, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter series, Jurassic Park, etc.) to see what music best helps them to study. I love seeing the reaction to the drumbeats at the start of the Skyrim soundtrack. Kids' heads pop up and their eyes get wide (I think they're smiling, but the masks kinda make it questionable...) when they recognize it.

Just finished Jurassic Park and started in on the Hobbit theme right now.

in the late 80s a station started in the MSP area that only played the music of the 1950s and 60s - i was disturbed when what seemed like just a few years later (tho it was actually the late 90s) they completely dropped the 50s and added the 70s.

I see that happening with the 60's...Rolling Stones, some early Clapton, maybe an occasional pre-Woodstock Who song, and Jimi Hendrix are about the only things they play from that decade.

I was just amused. I was imagining a future where someone would post something, and then 10 other people would repost it because they were checking it out what the original poster linked. The thread would turn into one item per page.
