Voted on the way to work this morning.
And in banks across the world
Christians, Moslems, Hindus, Jews
And every other race, creed, colour, tint or hue
Get down on their knees and pray
The raccoon and the groundhog neatly
Make up bags of change
But the monkey in the corner
Well he's slowly drifting out of range

Just cast my ballot, which here in Loudoun County VA was remarkably simple.

In IL in 2000, and MO from '84-96, I got used to seeing dozens of various bond and tax issues to vote on, a gajillion state offices ("comptroller"?), assorted city councilpersons, school board members, judges, etc.

VA is an "off year" election state. So I guess if I'm still here in 06, I'll see a cluttery ballot. Today though: President, Congressman, one trivial state constitution amendment, and 2 local tax/bond issues. That's it. Took all of about 4 minutes to finish.

I was voter #263 in my sleepy burg.

I'll do it on my way home. My wife might actually vote too, which would be a first. (She's a Political Science major, too. I always make fun of her for that.)

On my way in about 20 minutes. My favorite thing on our ballot this year:
STATE QUESTION NO. 7
Amendment to the Nevada Constitution

Assembly Joint Resolution No. 3 of the 71st Session

Shall the Nevada Constitution be amended to change the provision that prohibits an “idiot or insane person” from voting to refer instead to “a person who has been adjudicated mentally incompetent, unless restored to legal capacity” and to repeal a provision relating to the election of United States Senators by the Legislature that was made obsolete by the adoption of the 17th Amendment to the United States Constitution?

I'll be voting as soon as Neal gets home to go with me.

This will be the first presidential election I've voted in.

done. in retrospect, I checked the box for a surprising number of libertarian candidates. Then again, I always thought voting for judges was kinda funky.

I usually early vote as it's usually held across the street from where I work. But our courthouse is being renovated so eary voting is like 5 blocks away from where I work.

So I voted today. :)

It'll be the first time I have ever voted. I'm 20. See, we're not all too lazy. ;)

Haven't voted yet, waiting to go with my sister or my father since I have no idea where the polling place is. It used to just be in the town hall, but they moved it.

It's actually pretty embarassing to admit that I've never voted before, but after 2000, I don't think anyone can say anymore that one vote can't make a difference. Especially since I was living in Florida in 2000 and would have voted for Gore if I'd voted. Lesson learned, and I'll be voting from now on.
