Identify this Church

Post by noun »

First, check out this picture:

As usual, Jeb looks power-hungry, Laura looks radiant, and George looks uncertain. Never mind them. Check out the priest and his funky green robes. I want to know which church dresses their ministers in wild green robes with an anime Jesus on the front.

I wouldn't say Laura is looking radiant... her stance and look reminds me too much of the Joker from the Batman movie. GW looks like he just accidentally made a poopy and the cardboard cutout of Jeb behind them is just plain creepy.

The priest guy... I'm guessing he's from the Church of Supreme Commander Jesus of Robot Army Squad Zeta and Salvation.

That's probably a Catholic Church in Florida. Perhaps the one Jeb Bush goes to.

During the regular portions of the liturgical year, the color for vestments in the Catholic and Anglican churches is green. During other parts of the year, the vestments are red, purple or white.

Is that a Dropkick Murphy's t-shirt underneath the robes perhaps?

I've seen the pictures of Kerry playing sports. I'm confident in my vote that I won't lose any comedic value should he win

I don't see a traditional priest's collar on the guy, so I don't think it's Catholic (but I could be wrong). I don't believe GWB is Catholic anyway, though I don't know about Jeb.

Liturgical vestments don't necessarily have the Roman Collar. There are only two options with a clergyman dressed like that -- Catholic or Episcopalian/Anglican.

Neither Jeb nor George are Episcopalian (their parents are, however). Jeb is Catholic, and this is in Florida. 90% certain it's a Catholic church.

Yes it was a Catholic Mass as the Nightly News pointed out last night.

HeHe maybe that will piss of some of the Methodists supporting Bush.... not like they would vote for Kerry, maybe drive them to Nader

I would agree those are catholic vestments. I'm catholic, sort of.

Ummm... Mr President, can you please inform your brother that I am not an altar boy and he is not a priest?

It's the church of 'Poke-Jesus- Digital Parables'.

Bush going to mass? That's an odd choice, considering that a significant portion of the base he's trying to motivate believes that Catholics are followers of the Antichrist.

The more I look at that picture the more it's apparant that Jeb Bush is really Gregg Hartmann aka The Puppetman.

It's all starting to make sense now...

Oh man, that just made my day. Considering it is 11:55 p.m. right now, you made it just in time.
