Post by Jaymann »

Ho-hum, the regular season starts today. I checked the Lakers' roster and they got a whole lotta nothing.

Anyone interested in the Tournament? @Rip ?

I'm a little annoyed that the Kings and Warriors are in the same group, after they have played 11/17 games against each other recently (that apparently includes preseason games, as well as the playoffs last year)

As to the Lakers - they are a contender if they have AD and LeBron healthy come playoff time, as always. However, that appears to be about a 24-30% shot.

Just turned on ESPN to see the score of the Jazz/Suns game was tied at 75…AT HALFTIME. 😂

No thanks.

Turned off the Denver Nuggets-Golden State Warriors game with about 7 minutes left because Denver was down by 16 and it was just getting frustrating af. Apparently Nuggets went on a 25-6 tear and won the game on this beauty with less than 1sec to go:

The play-in mini tournament starts today. Lakers play the Pelicans. Win and in. Lose and they get another shot against the winner of Golden State/Kings.

That last week of the regular season was pretty amazing with all the playoff jockeying. I'm hoping the Warriors can get into the 7 game serieses - they were playing so much better lately, and would be in great position if the Pelican's hadn't gone completely nuts from 3 in the 2nd quarter (I think the Pels went 10 for 12 on 3's in the quarter - everything they chucked up went in) in the penultimate regular season game.

rooting for the Heat as well (love Jaime Jacquez Jr from UCLA and how well he's done as a rook).

It sure does look like it will be Nuggets-Celtics in the finals tho.

Seeing as I don't want to jinx the Nuggets, I'll hold off on the witty retorts :)

The Kings played amazing defense last night. Warriors may also have taken it a bit for granted given the Kings' injuries. Sad not to see Steph in the playoffs for more than a cup of coffee, but the Dubs did this to themselves by underperforming in the regular season in a West which got a LOT better this year.

Just imagine what their record could have been if Dreymond Green wasn't suspended all those games. They probably wouldn't be a Play-In team...

Eh, He's Draymond. If you're a dubs fan, you should have learned that you gotta take the idiotic with the great. Remember that the Dubs were the 6 seed in the West last year with a worse record (44-38 in 2023) than this year as the 10 seed (46-36 in 2024).

The West was pretty insane this year. Having 3 teams literally tied for 1st place until the last couple of games is unheard of.

Philly lucked out in their next matchup - the Knicks without Julius Randle. Meanwhile Miami faces the winner of the Bottom of the Barrel Bowl: the Hawks (36 - 46) vs the Bulls (39 - 43).

While it would be super entertaining* to see Miami knock Boston out of the playoffs again, it doesn't seem possible that they can pull it off without Jimmy Butler.

*super entertaining for me personally, not for Boston fans
