To use an analogy, try this:

EA Games=A Guy you know
Your Favorite game= your Significant other/mom

You invite a guy you know over to dinner. during the course of the dinner he end up screwing your significant other/mom. on the dinner table. in front of you. just before the tater tots are served.

Now how do you feel?

I wasn't happy when EA bought up the NASCAR license and pretty much caused the shutdown of Papyrus. But to be honest Papy was starting to fall into the same routine as EA in regards to their flagship game. NR2K4 was nothing more than a glorified patch to the 2K3 game but at least they had a working game.

EA could have just fed us the same Thunder/Race for the Cup crap that the consoles were getting but they knew it didn't work in the past and the modders could do better with the Papy game. So they are releasing a more sim like racing game for the PC only and if they can incorporate some of the great physics and network code that Papy had along with some of the cool features they have announced it may not be such a bad thing after all.

I guess if EA does buy UBI we can hope they are looking for a way to fill a gap they haven't been able to fill themselves rather than just buying up the competition. And in the end UBI and it's developers are currently just as guilty as EA in the dumbing down of what we consider the serious games aren't they?

UBISOFT? Are you crazy? Lock-On Modern Combat? IL-2 Sturmobik, Myst IV, Chessmaster 10th edition???

You could take EVERY EA game and shove it into a package and it still wouldn't be as complex as Lock On. Myst IV is definately not dumbed down, nor is IL-2/Pacific Fighters. I'm very thankful UBIsoft realizes there are people out there with IQ's above "15".
