That does bring Scoop back to the forefront a little.
Why did you target stessier?

So do you want to roll that back, or keep that protection capability in place? Either way is fine with me.Isgrimnur wrote:As such, Azeem's protection should not protect against an arrest.

Re: [WW] Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Day 3
When RMC claimed special but refused to claim a specific role both Grund and stessier suggested not pushing him on it but rather (essentially) letting the scanners test him. Grund was pretty vocal about it (and argued with you about it), which would be risky for a wolf (it would expose him too much). By contrast stessier piggybacked on Grund's argument a little bit and made one vague kind of "hey maybe let the scanners handle RMC", which seemed more wolfish.Remus West wrote:That does bring Scoop back to the forefront a little.

I haven't read back to look yet. Anyone else you were targeting in thread?
I start with the S's and go backward alphabetically.

We'll go with protection not preventing an arrest. The current game state is consistent with that situation.Grundbegriff wrote:So do you want to roll that back, or keep that protection capability in place? Re: [WW] Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Day 3
The dead:
bb2112: Night 1 murder (probably a pawn)
RMC: Day 1 Lynch (Morticia)
stessier: Day 2 Lynch (Ozzy of Osbourne}
The "trusted"-ish:
Moliere: Marian
Grundbegriff: Azeem
RevHempus71: Robin of the Hood
The candidates for target practice:
Chaosraven: [Sheriff | pawn | Will]
Vorret: [Sheriff | pawn | Will]
El Guapo: [Sheriff | pawn | Will]
Remus West: [Sheriff | pawn | Will]
Scoop20906: [Sheriff | pawn | Will]
I'm marginally inclined to trust El Guapo, since he threw stessier under the bus without wavering. Of course, trust has a short half-life in this game since he could be convertible Will.
Chaosraven: very low profile
Vorret: proposed an alternate candidate (now known good) when RMC was taking heat
Remus West: clinical but curiously passive
Scoop: hinky

Re: [WW] Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Day 3
I would go with Remus West on the bb2112 killed and RevH scanned by Sheriff in the Detroit crew.
I would go with Newcastle (Sir Not Appearing in this Game) as likely to frame the above.
RMC as guy would be likely to kill bb2112, remus, and myself.
But who's afraid of the big bad grund?
Given the opportunity to kill bb2112 *AND* myself, I don't see a Sheriff Remus being handed a knife and leaving me around to attack Grund.
So I narrow it to Vorret and Scoop from that standpoint.

Moliere, who as you'll recall is a currently uncontested Maid Marian, via her powers:Chaosraven wrote:wait how do we know that?
He was apparently told the identity of stessier.Scan target for Robin and the Sheriff. If Robin scans her, their roles are revealed to each other. The identity (not role) of one evil player is divulged to both. This will allow the evil team to attempt to one of the powered players. Does (x) play (y) role? They will be awarded a Yes/No answer. Only powered roles are available for selection. If Marian or Robin identify the evil player in a definitive statement, the guards descend on the town, seize and summarily execute one non-evil player. If she is arrested and her role becomes known in that method, neither the reveal to Robin nor the scan for Team Evil will occur.

Moliere - claims Maid Marian (uncontested)
Chaosraven - ?
bb2112 - dead unknown
RMC - dead baddie
Vorret - ?
stessier - dead baddie
El Guapo - ?
Grundbegriff - ?
RevHempus71 - Robin of Locksley (locked up)
Remus West - ?
Scoop20906 - ?
I'll go out on a limb and say that both RMC and stessier were some combination of guy and morgana. That leaves only the sheriff since he locked up Rev last night. That leaves a pool of 6 unknowns and if we drop Grund to the bottom only 5.

Re: [WW] Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Day 3
Is there any reason to use Marian's power to guess the Sheriff? Moliere could, if I understand this right, make an attempt at a "definitive statement" like "Is Scoop / Vorret the Sheriff?". If he's right we lose someone but then immediately lynch the Sheriff. Since we're looking for one person amidst two main suspects, if we guess that Scoop is the Sheriff and it comes back negative, then we would lynch Vorret.
But then we can do the same thing by just lynching one of them and then lynching the other, right? We lose one person at random if we guess right on Marian's power, whereas if we guess right on the lynch we do not lose someone extra (though we lose someone specific, the lynch target, if we guess wrong on the lynch).
Not sure whether Marian's power is worth using, but if we are going to use it now seems like a fine time.

Another question: does a failed "definitive statement" prove Marian? Like if Moliere asks if Scoop is the Sheriff, and the answer is no, does that occur in thread, or is it a silent fizzle?
Not that I really doubt that Moliere is Marian, but eliminating that small nugget of doubt is a potential side benefit.

Re: [WW] Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Day 3
I'm confused about whether I'm confused. My understandage:Isgrimnur wrote:Correction #2.
The Robin Marian Nexus™ results in 1 scan for sure with no ill consequences. If that scan is of a living player, then another optional scan is made available to them which, if successful, triggers an assassination-by-day event. Is this correct?
1. Sure: Robin scans Marian: they both learn (1a) the evilness of one living evil player OR (1b) the exact role of one dead evil player.
2. Optional if, and only if, (1a) happens: Robin or Marian utters the sentence "Evildoer who has been revealed to us as evil (or Evildoer that we luckily guess is evil) is in the role ROLE", whereupon (2a) they're right, and a good is randomly assassinated, or (2b) they're wrong and nothing comes of it.
If I'm understanding the mechanism right, then we passed through 1b, and we therefore have no access to 2a (which only follows 1a).
Affirmation? Dissent?
