Romper Room had died out by the time I came along as a little kid in the early 70s. Our host was Marcia Cling on channel 9 and she went on to host Fun Time, another childrens show in the same fashion that I did watch.

Anyone remember....I still have this damn song stuck in my head occasionally.

Oh, I'm fine with it, my man. I mean, I probably subscribe to the same newsletters. I'm just saying that's kind of a heavy topic for the first post in a new thread. It'll scare folks away. Isis was one of the most widespread and popular goddesses of the pre-Christian Roman Empire, with adherents from east of the Mediterranean to England, and people still worship her today. Her name was borrowed by DC comics long before news stations started using it as an acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It seems pretty unlikely that an extremist/fundamentalist religious group would choose the name of a goddess from a different religion to represent them.

I assume Daehawk just meant that the 'word' had been co-opted by way of the ISIS acronym - not that the terrorist group co-opted the goddess.
But, who knows?
