I recognized Tudyk right away. Had no idea the other guy was Damon.

Me neither. Was excited to see Tudyk, was hoping to see him have more than a cameo role.

I didn't either, but laughed when I saw them in the cast. Same for Pitt.

The Pitt cameo I caught. It was hard not to.

I also love Pitt's cameos on the Jim Jeffries show.

He was only on the screen for a second and I think I've only seen one of his movies, so it was a tough ask.

You’ve missed out on some good films.

Saw it yesterday. Thought it was good but not up to DP1 goodness, mainly because it was mostly just more of the same. I do agree though that the trailers were a great misdirection.

Also, about the end credits scene:
Spoiler:
So he just reversed the death of all the important people? I know DP isn't a movie focused on emotional gravitas, but seems like a pretty cheap to just undo his gf's death.

In addition
Spoiler:
wouldn't that negate his stay at the x mansion (no need to go into a depression over Vanessa), thus his going to see Russel with Colossus and Negasonic, thereby letting Russell be taken to mutant jail where Cable promptly would kill him...and thus negating the formation of x force, his friendship with cable, etc..?

I'm pretty sure the Deadpool universe gives zero shits about universe and timeline continuity, seeing as how:
Spoiler:
The X-Men cameo in the mansion were the "set in the 90s" version of the cast from the Dark Phoenix movie.

I tried to catch a glimpse of the aforementioned x-men before they promptly closed the door on them. Were they being played by at least some of the actual actors?

If by at least some you mean all, then yes.

Wow, impressive. It was too quick for me to actually see them, but I could have sworn at least Quicksilver was being played by someone other than the original actor.

Dark Phoenix and Deadpool 2 were shooting at the mansion at the same time so they were able to make it work with the full cast.

I went about 10 years without seeing any movies at all (other than Disney releases). That happened to coincide with his hayday.

Edit: I was wondering if maybe I just didn't remember movies he was in, so I went through his filmography. Nope, one movie - Ocean's Eleven. I've heard of a ton, I've just never seen them.

Regarding the credits scenes:
Spoiler:
Syfy
Rheese and Wernick have also indicated that the mid-credits scenes are canon, so we will see Wade and Vanessa together again, possibly as soon as the X-Force movie.

That's good, because I think she gives him a nicely human motivation for a lot of what he does... plus their dynamic is awesome.

Wait.. That was actually a new scene they filmed? I just figured it was a scene I forgot from one of the other movies that they spliced in.

Just saw it. Loved it. Funniest part, for me, was the bit about, "Who thought up that super power? [long rant], probably some guy who can't draw feet." I completely lost it at that line.

I also loved how they suckered every one of us with the trailers that, as so many trailers do, gave away all the big reveals...
Spoiler:
...that were all tied to five minute sequence that meant absolutely nothing.

This was excellent. The first Deadpool was a lot of fun, but DP2 is a cut above. The jokes are better, the plot is twistier, the character dynamics are stellar. Ryan Reynolds for Best Actor!

The CGI on him was okay for the most part, but I certainly wasn't in awe like I was for the CGI used for Thanos. I was just impressed that he wasn't human sized.

I don't know if they've released the numbers yet, but they did say the budget wouldn't be "phenomenally larger" just because DP1 was a huge success. Part of what made it rock was what they did with a tight budget - the corner-cutting was itself jabbed at.

Colossus looked the same (still good), but I did see some flaws in other CGI outside of Cable. Nothing that made me go "Oh, god, y'all suck" - that other character is supposed to be wildly different, physically. I don't know how you'd even come close to getting a good Motion Capture on that with another actor.

The only bad CGI that stuck out to me was the SR-71 airplane thing landing in the background when they first confronted FireFist - it looked terrible, like something out of The Phantom Menace

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it. The only cameo I caught was Alan Tudyk - didn't even notice who he was sitting with.

I noticed some bad CGI during one of Domino's big scenes but otherwise I wasn't too bothered by anything of note in the FX department.
