Re: Samurai Versus Ninja (ww) Roles Out! Get your PM
Anyway, probably makes sense to stay away from RMC for now. I guess the first question is if RMC is spoofing and the PI is out there, but didn't use their power on night 0, should they counter RMC now, or wait and use their power tonight and then counter on day 2 (banking on surviving tonight)? If there were definitely a protector around I would say definitely counter RMC now, BUT since there isn't it probably makes sense to lay low (because what are the odds that the wolves would hit the true PI, right?) and then counter tomorrow.

Not really sure who to vote for, which I suppose isn't surprising given that it's day 1. I'm going to go with Moliere
- he jumped on me awfully quick for doing the regular "probe the vague special claim" work.
Plus, you know, would free Moliere's time up for representing the forum in the werewolf championship.

This post really bothers me on multiple levels. He has posted a few other things that just hasn't sat right with me. I think Vorret is our next most likely candidate to be on team bad.Vorret wrote:I'm ok with letting him live, wolves will get him tonight anyway if he really is a special.
If not, well, we get him tomorrow, no harms done.

Vorret's thinking mirrored my own. I much rather see what the wolves do w/ RMC out and about...hence didnt' feel need for RMC to be todays cut....now that guy BB 2012 whom i love to tangle with...that's another story. Atleast he's out there probing for holes.bb2112 wrote:This post really bothers me on multiple levels. He has posted a few other things that just hasn't sat right with me. I'm either voting for BB or Moliere since they both tried to put words in my mouth earlier in the day ( ).
Since Moliere already has some votes on him ... Moliere
.
Beside, I much prefer Morliere, that guy has some serious style.

I get the feeling that Newcastle is sorta playing in the periphery.
Newcastle
I really don't have a strong read here on anyone, but feel I should pick the one that sorta stands out to me a little.
I'm not entirely sold on the RMC thing - as it certainly is a fake-able role, and one that a wolf would pick to hide behind.
The total open list of specials/evils get's a little bit of a "boo" from me....but really, I am just going to treat the game like one where we just lost our Seer. Hooray if some special can clear the air on things, but good luck being 'trusted'...
Sadly, I'm finding these games just make me realize I don't trust anyone.

Yeah, it's thankfully not as bad as the Hitler one.
I don't really 100% trust RMC either but as I said earlier, there's no reason *right now* to not trust the claim and we can re-evaluate the situation once night has passed.

I've got very little faith in the world's most convenient seer claim, but I'd like to see what RMC comes up with before voting against him.

Re: Samurai Versus Ninja (ww) Roles Out! Get your PM
Ok, so going through the roles with questions and whatnot:
Mod Response: The bogeyman wins if all the night active players on both teams is dead which reading it now it doesn't make much sense. FYI, this role isn't in the game AND will get updated for the next one.
Mod Response: Yes on both accounts. Since roles are not going to be announced this role is really just take the place of another player's death.
Mod Response: Not entirely. When the player leaves town no one will learn their role or alignment. I bet you love that.
Mod Response: Yes, the priest's protection extends all the way until the next night or the first kill attempt. Its a one time protection for the player, however.
Mod Reponse: The price can not be lynched. Ever.
Mod Reponse: The mod will post some flavor text about the player not being able to post that day.
Mod Reponse: It is and I have it in the wrong column. I will correct for the next game and also announce that that role is not in this game.
Mod Response: Not role including the cult leader is guaranteed to be in the game. The Cult Leader can either be on the werewolf or villager team.
Question: isn't the Bogeyman an "either team" role? Or does that mean that the Bogeyman wins if all night-active wolves are dead OR all night-active villagers are dead?Bogeyman: You win if all the night-active players are dead. Could be on either team.
Mod Response: The bogeyman wins if all the night active players on both teams is dead which reading it now it doesn't make much sense. FYI, this role isn't in the game AND will get updated for the next one.
This is a wrench in the value of the PI / seer. Wolf Man as well.Lycan: You are a villager, but you appear falsely to be a werewolf to the Seers or PI (if they exist)
Question: I assume that this means before the victim's alignment is revealed? We don't learn role from a death, right? Also, I assume that the martyr could take the place of a lynch target (but might accidentally protect a wolf), yes?Martyr: Take the place of someone who has been killed before their role is revealed.
Mod Response: Yes on both accounts. Since roles are not going to be announced this role is really just take the place of another player's death.
I assume that the effect here is the same as being killed?Old Hag: At night, indicate a player who must leave the village the next day. (one time power)
Mod Response: Not entirely. When the player leaves town no one will learn their role or alignment. I bet you love that.
So this only gets used on night 0 and night 1, but the respective players are protected indefinitely from one kill (until the "next attempt to kill" each player?Priest: On the first night, protect a player. The next attempt to kill the player fails. The night after that attempt, you protect a different player. Can no protect the same player twice.
Mod Response: Yes, the priest's protection extends all the way until the next night or the first kill attempt. Its a one time protection for the player, however.
Is the lynch used up if the village targets the Prince, or can they lynch someone else? Note that this is a provable role.Prince: You can't be lynched.
Mod Reponse: The price can not be lynched. Ever.
Is the village told anything when the spellcaster uses his power?Spellcaster: At night, indicate a player who must not post the following day.
Mod Reponse: The mod will post some flavor text about the player not being able to post that day.
Isn't this a werewolf role?Sorcerer: You are a seer, but you are on the Werewolf team. You only know if you've found a werewolf, another seer, or something else.
Mod Reponse: It is and I have it in the wrong column. I will correct for the next game and also announce that that role is not in this game.
Is the Cult Leader guaranteed to be in the game? If one player on a team is the Cult Leader, does that count as a special for that team?Cult Leader: Each night, add a player to your cult. (Mod will inform them they are part of the cult and who is the leader) You win if all of the players left alive are part of your cult.
Mod Response: Not role including the cult leader is guaranteed to be in the game. The Cult Leader can either be on the werewolf or villager team.

Thanks, Mr. Scoop. One follow up question:
I know the Prince can't be lynched. My question was whether if the village tries does it immediately go to night (with the Prince still alive), or are we told "sorry it's the Prince, pick someone else"?Is the lynch used up if the village targets the Prince, or can they lynch someone else? Note that this is a provable role.

So, it strikes me that maybe the best use of the PI is to actually prove 3 villagers (in other words, Don't include yourself and simply try and pick 3 people you really think are GOOD) and then if we lynch the PI and learn he is good, we have 3 proven/trusted players from his scan - which is pretty damn good.
Conversely; having 1 wolf (I suppose hitting 2 is damn good, so, keeping that in mind) - having just 1 wolf in his 'net', and also needing to feel good acting on the unproven/trusted PI's info - seems like a net negative / wolf-move.
Make sense?
Not right?

That would be my suggestion, try to get 3 good guys, not including RMC, in your net. If we get a wolf then we have to spend some effort weeding them out and possibly taking some innocent lives along the way.
We can prove RMC when he dies and he will die. It's the only way to be sure.

Although you can't really hit 2 wolves, on the conversely thought - the PI ability just tells you whether there is at least 1 wolf in the group, so if you list two or three wolves it's the same as listing 1.Unagi wrote:So, it strikes me that maybe the best use of the PI is to actually prove 3 villagers (in other words, Don't include yourself and simply try and pick 3 people you really think are GOOD) and then if we lynch the PI and learn he is good, we have 3 proven/trusted players from his scan - which is pretty damn good.
Conversely; having 1 wolf (I suppose hitting 2 is damn good, so, keeping that in mind) - having just 1 wolf in his 'net', and also needing to feel good acting on the unproven/trusted PI's info - seems like a net negative / wolf-move.
Make sense?

What are the odds that we have a protector? You're the obvious one to protect, so it seems likely that you'll be alive tomorrow morning.RMC wrote:Yup I will die, most likely tonight, so your thoughts on my scan are most likely wasted.Lassr wrote:Unagi wrote:So, it strikes me that maybe the best use of the PI is to actually prove 3 villagers (in other words, Don't include yourself and simply try and pick 3 people you really think are GOOD) and then if we lynch the PI and learn he is good, we have 3 proven/trusted players from his scan - which is pretty damn good.

That would be my suggestion, try to get 3 good guys, not including RMC, in your net. If we get a wolf then we have to spend some effort weeding them out and possibly taking some innocent lives along the way.
We can prove RMC when he dies and he will die. It's the only way to be sure.

It's starting to be time to choose. This round, I'm going to go on gut feelings.
The pile-on against Moliere feels artificially contrived to me. Both Newcastle and El Guapo seem to be driving it, and NC already has votes on him, so...

With Holman's vote that puts Moliere and Newcastle both at 3. It doesn't seem like Vorret is going anywhere, so... let's see what happens...Scoop20906 wrote:Day 1 Vote Count

I am good with Newcastle, so I will let him talk then walk him to the gallows.

Newcastle and Vorret were the two main alternatives I considered before voting Moliere, so I'm fine with voting for Newcastle instead. But yes, of course we should let him speak first.

Thank you, sir.Scoop20906 wrote:Mod Response: Oh. Sorry El G. The Majority will be reached and then it will be announced that the Prince can not be lynched (stays alive) and then the game progresses into the Night.El Guapo wrote:Thanks, Mr.
Mod Response: The price can not be lynched. Ever.
