I was just looking at this because my son was asking about it. I am amused that Dark Souls Remastered is more expensive than Dark Souls III.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
They are doing a racing event and the team that wins - some random members will get 1 (or more?) games from their wishlist free.
Teams are:
Pig
Hare
Cockatiel
Tortoise
Corgi
Can't change teams once you commit. Get points for buying games, playing games you own/free games (specific things you do in the game to complete "quests" earn points - ex: TotalWar: Warhammer II is a game I won - 3 things I can do: Release a captive (10 pts), use a special ability (50 pts), Capture a settlement (20 pts) - says each after these, assuming that means they can be repeated), get pit stop rewards you can redeem at the pit stop when you boost your team (can't see pit stop to see what you can redeem for)). Says random members of top 3 teams get free prizes.
Corgi is currently winning - 3600ish points, other 4 teams have 500-600 points. Thinking to sign up there but thought I'd see where OO is going.

You buy and level up the sale badge in the "Pit Stop" using tokens. There do not appear to be any trading cards this time out.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Im seeing some ok prices but again as for the last few years on Steam sales nothing is grabbing me.
Ive been wanting an RPG for a while now and have had my eye on some.
POE: Deadfire - Played a few hours of the first POE. Nothing bad wrong with it but it didn't stand out. Was just a bland meeeeeh to me. I quit it .
Original Sin 2 - I actively disliked the first one. Played a couple hours and not only meh to me but just didn't like it. Especially the conversations with yourself.
Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced - Loved the original games and finished them with all DLC. So I pretty much know them plus I dont want to go back to older stuff...not even anything I played last year.
Kingdom Come - nice price and been interested in it . But it looks slow and very difficult combat wise.
Pathfinder - Looks good but read a lot of negative stuff on it from timers, to bugs, to tied in knot quests and bad writing.

They did the stupid race thing before (gimped via Reddit or some such, I guess) and they did the stupid buy-backgrounds-and-emotes-with-points thing before. Now get them together! I spent $6.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Only thing I've bought so far is DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN: ENHANCED EDITION. I actually own it on Xbox, but never got very far - partially due to my inability to translate console controls to a genre I'm so used to on PC.
So far, it's been a MUCH better experience and I'm hoping I can actually make some progress this time.
The decision I have to make now is whether to go all in and grab the sequel while it's on sale, or hope that by the time I finish the first one I can nab it for around the same price.

I saw the email with around 14 things from my wishlist on sale. Can't convince myself to care. I guess I could take the opportunity to start up a steam account for the youngest, but I am just not terribly motivated. Biding my time until The Surge 2 and Borderlands 3.

I had 22 things on sale, but the wife is having a slow recovery from major knee surgery and I just can't generate any interest in getting a game right now. On the other hand, I'm able to spend a lot of time doing a bunch of reading while sitting around on standby as it were.coopasonic wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:59 am I saw the email with around 14 things from my wishlist on sale. Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Similar to the last few Steam sales, there are a few deals that interest me, but none of them are at quite enough of a discount to warrant pulling the trigger. I might grab a couple things off the wishlist (the .hack/GU remake for $12 is probably first on the list), but it won't be much.
Besides, the FF XIV xpac comes out tomorrow, and will likely take up all my gaming time for the forseeable future.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
I'm in the same boat. There are a few games I'd really like to try (the Kingdom Come pack, Conan Exiles, a few others), but none of them are at the 'magic price' that would make me bite when I already have stuff to play. The only thing I bought was a copy of Kovaak's FPS Aim Trainer for my son. It isn't just that the discounts aren't as deep as in the past, but that the games' base prices aren't dropping as quickly as they used to.

I *might* get Heat Signature. Only $5.
Can't really justify buying anything though. Like everyone else, I still have a huge back log of really good games I've barely touched.

I have basically no backlog... still not interested.
Considering ATS DLC, Vampyr, Hitman 2, Jagged Alliance: RAGE, Pathfinder: Kingmaker. I think I'd still just rather play Borderlands 2 co-op with my son.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
huge backlog... begun moving my purchases to GOG... Twitch Prime gives me four free games a month, and Epic Games storefront gives me a free game every week... combine that with cheap bundles from Fanatical and occasionally Humble Bundle... i know a lot of you pine for the days of Steam sales 2009-2012, but *this* is the game acquisition golden age right now.

Update:
Bought Heat Signature.
If anyone else is thinking of picking it up too, be sure to snag the 2 game bundle it is in. It's the same price as just Heat Signature is on it's own.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
If simple game acquisition is your goal, sure. I'd rather pay more for games I actually want to play than increase the size of my collection. My collection is already obnoxiously huge, and the number of games in it that I have no interest in from various free sources and bundles is similarly huge. There's a reason those games are being given away. I'd like to say I am not a game snob, but it's pretty obvious that I am.hitbyambulance wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 4:39 am huge backlog... begun moving my purchases to GOG... Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
I'm the same way. I have a ton of games that have come from bundles, free games of the month (Twitch, Epic, EA, Origin, Steam - they all do it), and so forth. Probably half of my library is stuff that I would never pay for directly, and have no desire to play. It used to be that I'd see a bundle for $4 that had twelve games in it, but only two I wanted. $4 for two games is still a bargain, but I end up with 10 junk titles.
