Finished Games List 2004 - Keep it updated

Post by Blackhawk » Wed Oct 13, 2004 12:07 pm

Originally launched with this statement by Croman:
Started this last year and I will start it again this year.

Rules: Lets try to keep general chat out of this.. simply just post a list of the PC games that you have completed and then edit your message as appropriate.

Only list games that you have completed in 2004 (you could have started it in 2003, that is ok)

Games you have finished again.. post the game with (repeat) after it.. ie
Baldurs Gate 2 (repeat)
This is the most recent cached copy of this years list that I could find.

I'm here too.

Finished so far:

January
1. The Shadowlords/Dreamcatcher Series for Neverwinter Nights. They're long enough, and have been plaguing me long enough that I consider them a full game.
2. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
3. Ghost Recon: Island Thunder - which completes Ghost Recon Gold.
4. Soldier of Fortune (the first one).

February
5. Shadows of Undrentide for NWN.
6. Metal Gear Solid for PC
7. Halo for PC

March
8. Mafia - I played about 3/4 through and got stuck on a mission. No save-anywhere killed this one for me.

April
9. Call of Duty

May
10. Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC)
11. Mafia: I couldn't help myself. I went back and finished the darn thing!

Yay!

Half-Life

Well I finally finished Half Life, I never played it and started it in January. My last saved game was Jan. 21st until last Tuesday.

I have to say I don't see what the big deal was about this game. I'm not knocking the graphics or anything after all it is about 6 or 7 years old now but what was it that was supposed to be so great? The only thing I can think of was the unique level/load design that enabled you to go back to old areas for the most part. Maybe the AI was ahead of its time I can't remember other games from the time that well besides Unreal but I do know I got frustrated with the scientists many times because they would follow me and open something up like they were supposed to causing me to have to reload. As far as making my list of great games of all time I'll have to pass on it.

I just beat Tactics Ogre. Not that it's a PC game, but it was good nevertheless. I still think Ogre Battle was better though.

Now it's time to finish off Hordes of the Underdark. I got most of the way through it and then stopped. I shall not let it linger!

Surprisingly, I didn't finish either of the two games listed.

I have done:

Mummy: Tomb of the Pharaoh, up until I hit a fatal error that wouldn't allow me to finish
Diablo II
Return To Castle Wolfenstein

Star Trek: Bridge Commander
No One Lives Forever 2

Divine Divinity
Return of the King

And that's it for 2004. So when does the 2005 list start?

I went back and did finish it.

April
9. Call of Duty

May
10. Deus Ex: Invisible War (PC)

Reconstructing the rest from memory...
11. Nox
12. Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for PS2 (co-op with my wife)
13. Unreal II for PC
14. Beyond Good & Evil (PS2)
15. Sacrifice
16. Splinter Cell
17. Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
18. Freedom Fighters
19. Diablo II using the V&K Middle-earth mod (couldn't finish LoD though)
20. Space Channel 5 Pt 1.

Memory is a bit fuzzy as 2004 draws to a close. But from what I remember I finished...

Max Payne 2
HL2
Rome: Total War (Conquer 50 provinces campaign)
Homeworld 2
Sacred

Almost done:
Warhammer: Dawn of War
tl;dr

Wise words of warning from Smoove B: Oh, how you all laughed when I warned you about the semen. Well, who's laughing now?

Ok, some of this is off of memory from the GG days.

Riddick [Xbox]
Beyond Good and Eveil [Xbox]
Full Spectrum Warrior [Xbox]
Armed and Dangerous [Xbox]

Warhammer: Dawn of War [PC]
Half Life 2 [PC]
Call of Duty United Offensive [PC]
Far Cry [PC]
Doom 3 [PC]

I think that's it so far

I just finished Mafia last night. Great game, and for the $10 I spent on it awhile back, it might just be the greatest gaming value in history. :D

Started: Vampire: Bloodlines
Elaine: Oh, hey, listen, by the way, have you seen a tall... lanky...
doofus, with a, with a bird-face and hair like the Bride of
Frankenstein?
Usher: Haven't seen him.
