Ive spent the last hour looking up Six Flags Over Georgia info. I just realized its been just about 40 years since i got to go. I WISH Id gotten to visit more over my life. Im 55 now!!. I dont go to town never mind half a state away to an amusement park. I went in 85 and 86 when I was 16 and 17. Both times had a girl to be there with. One was great..the other turned out to not be lol. But only 2 times. Sad as hell it is.
Its also like $55 to get in. Then it was like $35 and that seemed high. I went both times on a church or group bus with other teens. I saw the Dahlonega Mine Train just now . That was one of my favorite rides. I saw the seats and wondered if they are the same I sat on...then realized that was 38 years ago so no lol..well maybe no..never know.
I have two of my best memories still.
Getting to the park and riding my first ride there with Jill. The Wheelie. I had never ridden anything like that. Its like a Ferris wheel thats really fast and the cars swing out then the whole wheel tilts almost if not vertical. At the top you're stuck to your seat by gravity. They stuck me in first and you straddle a bench. Then they put Jill in and she slid back against me. As the ride went on she got squished into me. Loved it Also her hair was flying every which way in my face. Another thing about Jill is she was my next door neighbor girl 2 houses up and Id never spoken to her before. It was out at my dad's and I was only there on weekends until I was 16...the year we went to Six Flags and she was on the bus. I guess thats why we hung out there. We had a BLAST that day. Ive seen a pic of her recently and she looks older but still great. As a teen she was gorgeous. . Her husband died about year after my wife and they'd been together as long as me and my wife.
Heres a pic of her from about 3 years ago. Wish I had one from back then. Just have to imagine her at 16.
One little mem was riding down on the bus. A Lamborghini Countach passed us. I bout jumped out of my chair as I was totally in love with those cars.
Man I love those times and I love my memories. Just wish Id made many more. Yep living in the past. Best times of my lives was 1973-2019...although I love and am thankful for my little Buster dog...He keeps me sane. Without him Id be totally lost..so these aren't the WORST years.
EDIT: Heres The Wheelie at Six Flags Over Georgia..the one we rode. They replaced it a few years back but this Wheelie I think is in a Florida amusement park if Im not mistaken.
