Me too....and that Frank one was eerily good.

That was amazingly good. The orchestration seemed quite complex as well.

Came across this, and it's interesting, I guess? One thing I love is how musicians can dissect a song, and make it into something completely different. I love that kind of cover, and I'd really like to see more of that. I don't really love this cover itself, but I love the idea behind it. As for the song itself, it ends up sounding like a lot of indie pop-rock, with many of the hooks removed.

I've always liked Sarah Jarosz, right from the beginning with her debut album. Here she teams up with Chris Thile and she just nails this song, a cover of Massive Attack's 'Teardrop'. But wow, I sometimes wonder if Chris Thile ends up pulling his back muscles.

I loved that song as the theme for House, and was bummed when they changed it.

I saw her perform in the late aughts, opening up for The Greencards. Iirc, I got her first two albums. But I definitely enjoy her work.

That must have been an awesome concert. I'm jealous. I wish I'd be able to see her in concert, but most of these bands, including her and Nickel Creek end up only touring the U.S.

Where's that, Michigan? Long trip for just a concert. Would take a minimum of 8 hours drive.

Looks like you missed a window for tickets in Toronto... I'd love to go to the Horseshoe sometime. So many bands I like pass through there.

Interesting. One of the few Canadian dates from any these musicians. And yeah, so many greats have played the Horseshoe Tavern. Still wish they'd do more Canadian dates though.

Yeah, might be a good festival, but still too far for me, which isn't even a consideration at this point. I have a good festival close to home that lasts 4 days.

This one popped up on a random playlist yesterday. I absolutely adore this version.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet.

Love that song so much. Every time I hear it, I fall back in love.

I had a really cool City of Heroes toon named: "Exit the Warrior", and his detailed description were plucked lines from the lyrics. (making me super cool 8-) )

Deadsy also do a great cover of Gary Numan’s song Replicas.

I discovered those two girls earlier this summer and they've been a joy to listen to. I don't think English is even their original language as they're not originally from the England, but they've managed to really evoke the Beatles sound, and I think there are even several videos where they're playing at a famous pub where the Beatles played at.

Another I've discovered recently along similar lines is the Filipino band REO Brothers, who have an uncanny ability to sound exactly like anybody they cover, down to the individual performers.

Like, here is their cover of Now and Then:

I feel this video captures more of the essence than the official video did, as if all 4 were actually in the room together.
