Monday morning weigh-ins are probably a bad idea. I knew this would be a bad one since we had my daughter's birthday party this weekend and had family in from out of town. Got a good meal plan this weekend though so not too worried.

For no good reason I went back and looked at where I started this process. On 1/10/22 I weighted 91.1 kg. It wasn't my highest weight ever but it was close to the top. 20 months later I'm down to 82.9. Put into pounds that's a little less than a pound a month.

Nice. That's an enviable monthly total, assuming no side effects. I'm down to around needing around 14 more total for my final stretch to my goal. While I'm allowing myself forever to get there, I really wish I could do it in the next couple of months. I'm so sick of the ever increasing calorie deficit I'm on. I really hope the math supports a good increase when I get to 189. At the current pace, my budget suggests I'll be consuming around 1850 calories a day toward the end of my goal. I was going to revisit maybe as low as 175 at that point, but I don't think so anymore. I was just looking at how easy it was to have a deficit when my budget was over 2700 calories a day before walking. At under 2000 for a while now, it's a totally different story. I go to bed hungry every night, fixate on consumption, and while progress is still happening it feels so much slower.

I lived on restaurant food and didn't exercise for six days last week, so stable is better than expected. I ate more and worse than usual but offset it by drinking less beer than usual.

Didn't lose any weight last week. Last weekend we had a birthday party and the next day went to a SF giants game. Took all week to get back down what I weighed a week before. But I weighed myself today and while not official, I'm down to 222.2 pounds. Putting me over the 15 pound mark.

I'm on weight watchers, and trying to stay under 100 carbs a day. I was also on metformin which also helps to lose weight. I stopped taking that as it was killing my digestive system.

Big drop this week. Not doing anything crazy other than staying consistent. Would really like to get well past my low this year of 197.7 before my annual checkup in November.

I got 4 frozen pizza in my freezer I can't get to at my current calorie intake. A loaf of bread, pack of cheese, quart of yogurt and oatmeal, and a pound of lunchmeat is close to a week's intake right now. Every week I replace them is a week I'm not eating canned, cardboard boxed, or frozen foods. To say nothing of fresh produce. This week, a rotisserie chicken, a 20 pack of fajita tortillas, an an onion, and a pack of Taco Bell Fajita mix fed me for three days with a bunch of fajita tortillas left. I am so ready to hit my goal and up my intake. My baseline has been 201 since August 1st, so I don't see the last 10 pounds going quickly. I miss the days I was eating 2600+ calories a day and losing 5 pounds a week.

My wife is fighting some sort of gluten allergy so she started buying cauliflower crust frozen pizzas and I've become quite fond of them. When I've got a pizza craving, they're at least a way to get my fix in a bit healthier, slightly lower calorie way.

No cowleeflower for me. Anything that uses it as a substitute is instantly bleched. I'm not sure why. I love broccoli but when it comes in albino flavor, I'm out.

Finally bust through the 201 barrier that past week. My ap tracks 5 pound increments as milestones. They are getting further and further apart. Now it's over a month since the last one. But at least I'm finally back to a new low. I'm sooo looking forward to getting to a maintenance calorie intake.

New YTD low and my first official reading under 185 in at least two years, maybe three. My goal for this year is to get comfortably below 185, which realistically means 182-183, because I WILL regain 2-3 lbs over the winter.

I've been trying maintenance for a couple of weeks now. My off and on interest in playing with flavors means I've had a few more cocktails during the past 3 weeks but in exchange I've had fewer beers. There are been a couple of big eating days and lazy days and, I guess, some good days to balance them.

Today was my first weigh in of 1 week straight at under 200 pounds and I have a fairly high level of confidence that my high spikes will no longer hit the 200 pound mark. At 196 this morning, I am 7 pounds from my goal. At my current pace I may get there by the end of the year. Slower than I'd like but much faster than I originally set a pace at. When pounds were melting off, in the back of my mind, I was hoping to get there by the end of August with a pivot to 175. Now I'll be happy maintain 189 at least for a good little while and boy would it be nice to get there in October, so I can evaluate a higher consumption.

Over 250 days in, 7 pounds to go. I didn't think I was going to spike above 200 last week. I was wrong. Still slowly plugging along. Being down to 1900 calories a day has me concerned when I finally get to my maintenance weight, that I am really not going to be happy with my caloric budget. Maybe it will better when I can finally get my walking back up to a level where I get 300+ calories in walking bonus... One day, I hope.

Went through sorting all my pants, as I am moving away from generic shorts size season. I discovered I don't have any 36" waists anymore and only a couple of tattered 38". So I squoze into a 34" this morning. It's not so tight that it aggravates my hernia surgery but I'm definitely squarely into muffin top territory. So I'm putting away all my 42" and 40" pants (which a belt won't save anymore), debating throwing away the tattered ones, and dumping the better ones off with charity. I'm going to make sure weight loss sticks this time before getting rid of them though. I have a surprisingly large amount pants in these sizes that I have accumulated over the course of weight gain, loss, gain, loss, gain and now loss again.
So close. As I have decided I am not going to pivot to a weight lighter than 189 (tippy top end of BMI registering not overweight), it's about time to pivot from weight loss to weight maintenance while building strength, endurance, lung capacity, and heart health. I still can't do the daily 90 minutes walks I had worked up to before I got hit by a car. When I got up to 45 minutes walks, post accident, the hernia started presenting badly. After the hernia surgery, 15 minutes is all I can do... But I make up for it with daily PT for my arm. Still, even before getting blind sided to the emergency room, I had never been able to get my heart rate up for any time before my breathing gave out. So the next two measurables I want to start working on are going to be some sort of lung capacity tracking and some sort of core exercises, to reduce my back pains while increasing my ability to do work that require, you know, activity. Not sure what these things will be, how I will track, when I will start, or much of anything really. I'm just "saying things out loud" so I get on track. If I just think things, they never get done.
