The merchants have a "Buy Back" option. And, from what I recall, there's an option to not show the "headband".

Ill check the headband thing. I looked in the buy back area but it only showed some booster items for the weps and armor...nothing else I sold showed.

Pretty sure you have to go back to the merchant you sold it to. Had to do that once when, late at night and a little fuzzy, I accidentally sold my Golden Fast Travel pack.

Got SO sick of having NO room to pick stuff up I went to the nearest merchant and sold all my lenses. Figure if I want one I can just go kill the creature that has it. Also sold off items I had multiple stacks of 50 of...like metal containers...had over 300 of them. Now I can loot some shit.

In the first 1/4 or so of the game, I took a sabbatical from the plot and spent several hours hunting materials to expand all of my inventory/ammo capacities to at least level 3. It was definitely worth it later. If you do the same, would suggest buying at least the most basic version of all the weapons so you unlock and can unlock the associated ammo pouches. All of my storage was maxed by mid game.

Without spoiling any of the story am I getting anything by completing a cauldron? All I remember at the end was fighting a boss and sticking my staff in a column. Did I change the way machines act in that area or stop them being made?

Yes, of course. What you get is the ability to override certain machines, each one adding more. She even says as much after completing them.

Ive returned to the world of Horizon. Trying to relearn my controls. Remembered my great amazing hunter who can climb skyscrapers and machine animals the height of a waterfall cannot get over a 4 foot wall and had to look for steps :P

First merchant I came to offers a super travel pack. Seems it allows fast travel without ever using itself up. Would save me some room. Its price is 3 items of differing amounts. I have one of them but it also wants a single fox skin/pelt and some fat. Im thinking animals of all kinds have the fat but I dont see foxes anywhere on my map. So Ive got to find their home range yet.

Just bumping this because of my excitement over the upcoming Frozen Wilds DLC which is released tomorrow! Supposedly it will be a 15 hr campaign and I'm looking forward to continuing my adventures with Aloy in the cold north wherever that may be this time around. (Canada? Alaska?)

And 12 minutes of gameplay if one is interested:

I’m going to have to reacquaint myself with the controls so I think I’ll take the scenic route on my way to the DLC to get some practice. I already finished the game and I’m glad I have that special armor you can finally get near the end of the game. From what I’ve read the DLC will be a good challenge.

I played it straight to the point where you get to the desert area and go down the mountain. Has the 2nd cave bunker to clear whatever they are called. I stepped away there and finding it hard to get started again because this area is a lot harder than all Ive seen before. It also has those robot t-rex like machines that kill me instantly.

Downloaded the DLC and cranked up the game to make sure I recalled the controls. Level cap is 60 now, there are several new skills to unlock and two new sets of trophies. I was wondering if something triggers my trip up into The Cut or if I'm just supposed to notice the new foggy area on the map. Googling around I found this review on CNET for my first "oh crap" moment. Spoilered the snippet in case you want to find this out on your own:

Spoiler:
The Cut is an inhospitable place, but the Banuk, a nomadic tribe you might remember from the first game, say there's a new kind of corruption in town. It makes the machines stronger. Meaner.

"Easy mode," I thought. "I have my Shield-Weaver armor from my first play through. I'm basically invincible in it."

Yeah… not so much.

Not only are machine foes more difficult to dispatch in Frozen Wilds, there are also towers littered around The Cut that pulsate with purple light, healing any machine in the vicinity. And it shorts out the Shield-Weaver armor's force field, rendering it effectively worthless anywhere near those towers.
From watching some videos, it looks like there should be a New Quest marker up by the foggy area but I don't recall seeing that last night. I'll have to check again later.

Adding: a new patch this morning includes a fix for the New Quest markers not showing up. Now they do. 8-)

Once again I will be thwarted by the damn Hunting Grounds. Got every trophy in the main game and the expansion but the dreaded "all Blazing Suns" continues to elude me at ANY of the hunting grounds. Don't know why this is such thing for me. In The Cut I missed a first place finish last night by one second.

It definitely takes some getting used too. I picked up the main game and expansion a few months ago and really enjoyed it. I don't play PS4 at all, prefer PC for everything. This is actually the first PS4 game I ever finished. I finished the main game and started the expansion and then put it down for awhile. It was tough going back in, but after playing for a little while the muscle memory finally kicked back in. I think I'm near the end. Not sure if you got that power armor near the endgame, but it is game changing.

I picked this up when it was $20 for the complete edition on PSN. I had a really slow start getting into it because I found some of the mechanics needlessly obtuse but ultimately really enjoyed it. I liked the DLC area (Frozen North) more than the main game. I thought the quests were just generally better designed. Once I was high enough level to survive up there I did the entire area and went back to the main game quest after I was ridiculously high leveled.

Feeling like a complete badass for the final chapter of the main game was pretty fun. :D

Looks like Sony appreciates how we reorganized this forum because Horizon Zero Dawn is allegedly coming to PC:
The PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn will come to personal computers this year, sources tell Kotaku. It’s an unprecedented move for Sony that signals a future in which the publisher releases games on platforms beyond its own consoles.

This news comes from three people familiar with Sony’s plans, all speaking anonymously because they were not authorized to talk to press. Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

About time. There are a bunch of PS only games I would happily give them money for, but I would much rather play them on PC.

This is on of those titles I've always wanted to play, but not enough to buy an PS4 and then deal with learning how to use that controller (I'm wired for Xbox now). I'm happy to see this and as the article suggests, hopefully it's the start of a new trend.

With MLB The Show also coming to other platforms, it makes me wonder if maybe there's a shift in their policies. That's two former exclusives now.
