That sounds like a place where Affirmative Action does more harm than good now. They made it. Racism has been eradicated. Good for them.

The Alabama Justice Project has obtained documents that reveal a Dothan Police Department’s Internal Affairs investigation was covered up by the district attorney. A group of up to a dozen police officers on a specialized narcotics team were found to have planted drugs and weapons on young black men for years. They were supervised at the time by Lt. Steve Parrish, current Dothan Police Chief, and Sgt. Andy Hughes, current Asst. Director of Homeland Security for the State of Alabama. All of the officers reportedly were members of a Neoconfederate organization that the Southern Poverty Law Center labels “racial extremists.” The group has advocated for blacks to return to Africa, published that the civil rights movement is really a Jewish conspiracy, and that blacks have lower IQ’s . Both Parrish and Hughes held leadership positions in the group and are pictured above holding a confederate battle flag at one of the club’s secret meetings.
Dumbfounded and speechless.
Unbelievable.

Journalist Arrested During Ferguson Protest Is Convicted
Mary Moore, a videographer who has worked with ABC, CNN and BET, was notified this week that Municipal Judge Donald McCullin dismissed charges of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, and imposed a suspended sentence on the failure to comply conviction. The suspended sentence means Moore won’t be punished if she avoids trouble in Ferguson for a year.

Moore is one of least two dozen journalists arrested or detained covering Ferguson protests since the police shooting of teenager Michael Brown in August 2014. Some of the journalists have sued police over their arrests, and at least one has won a legal settlement. Moore said her conviction is likely to affect how she approaches her job covering news.

Activist Protester found shot in burning car. Homicide suspected:
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, at approximately 1:50 a.m. on September 6, its Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Bomb and Arson Unit were requested to assist the City of Riverview for a vehicle fire in the 9600 block of Diamond Drive.

Police say their investigation revealed that Seals suffered a gunshot wound before the car was set on fire. The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide.

California investigators have said a car that plunged off a roadside cliff, killing a family of eight, may have been done deliberately.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) say the car's software data and a lack of skidmarks or evidence of braking indicates it was "intentional".

Bodies of five family members have been recovered. Authorities say the three other children are presumed dead.

Parents Sarah and Jennifer Hart and three of their adopted children - 19-year-old Markis, 14-year-old Jeremiah and 14-year-old Abigail - were confirmed dead on Wednesday by authorities in Mendocino County after a passerby spotted their car at the bottom of the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

"It was pure acceleration from last brake application until it hit the bottom of the ocean - the edge of the ocean," Captain Baarts said, adding that no suicide note has been discovered.

Devonte, 15, Hannah, 16, and 12-year-old Sierra are still missing, but presumed dead.
...
The family's neighbours filed a complaint that the children were being deprived of food.

Neighbours Bruce and Dana DeKalb complained to authorities that 15-year-old Devonte had told them that his parents were "punishing them by withholding food".

Devonte rose to national attention when a photo of him hugging a police officer at a protest against police brutality went viral in 2014.

USA Today
The Justice Department will not bring federal charges against a New York City police officer over the death of Eric Garner during a chaotic arrest that ignited nationwide protests five years ago.

The decision, described by federal officials familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment publicly, marks the end of a civil rights probe into an episode that helped turn a national spotlight on how police officers use force against minorities.

Authorities spent years investigating Garner's death in an examination that proved contentious both inside and outside of the Justice Department. Attorneys in the department's Civil Rights Division long advocated bringing a criminal charge, while prosecutors in Brooklyn recommended against it.

In the end, Attorney General William Barr broke the logjam, deciding in recent days that Justice would not bring a federal civil rights prosecution against New York Police Department officer Daniel Pantaleo, officials said.
...
The city paid a $5.9 million civil settlement to Garner's family. Pantaleo has been assigned to administrative duty since Garner's death.

In 2017, the city's Civilian Complaints Review Board determined that Pantaleo used excessive force. Federal authorities have been conducting a separate, years-long civil rights inquiry into Garner's death. Pantaleo also is awaiting a verdict in a NYPD disciplinary proceeding.

CNN
NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill just announced that officer Daniel Pantaleo has been fired.

"Trials Commissioner Maldonado ruled that officer Pantaleo’s use of a prohibited chokehold was reckless and constituted a gross deviation from the standard of conduct established for a New York City police officer," O'Neill said.

"I agree with the Deputy Commissioner of Trials legal findings and recommendations and it is clear that Daniel Pantaleo can no longer serve as a New York City police officer," O'Neill said.

Daniel Pantaleo was not informed of his dismissal ahead of time, NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said.

Jennifer and Sarah Hart moved their six adopted children to Oregon after teachers in Minnesota repeatedly reported signs of abuse. They left Oregon for Washington four years later, after fearing they might lose their children. They packed up their children and fled one final time three hours after a Washington social worker knocked on their door.

The family of eight was dead less than three days later.

Jennifer Hart aimed the family’s GMC Yukon toward the Pacific Ocean and stepped on the gas pedal as hard as she could.

A jury of 14 people ruled Thursday after two days of testimony that Jennifer and Sarah Hart acted together to kill themselves and their six children in Mendocino County, California, a place that friends said they had always wanted to visit. The conclusion ended a coroner’s inquest that brought national attention to the isolated stretch of California coast line where the Harts died in March 2018.
...
Markis, 19, Hannah, 16, Devonte, 15, Jeremiah, 14, Abigail, 14, and Sierra, 12, likely died within seconds of the crash, authorities testified. Hannah’s foot washed ashore more than a month after the crash. Devonte’s body has never been found.

After jurors delivered their unanimous decisions about how each family member had died, Mendocino County Sheriff Thomas Allman called for a national database to track child abusers across state lines.
